1985 Jeep CJ-7 Laredo, Factory PS, PB, AC & Old Man Emu Suspension!1985 was the last year next to last year of the Jeep CJ-7. This highly optioned Laredo was sold new in Houston, Texas to a physician who kept it on his ranch. The second owner was the hear of maintenance at Texas A&M University. I am the third owner and drove it to Ohio from southern Texas ten years ago. In Ohio, it has always been garaged and never driven in snow, salt or muddy conditions. Starts runs and drives beautifully - ready to drive from Ohio to anywhere in North or South America!BODY: The paint is the original burgundy with original style graphics. The second owner repainted the hood and the graphics on the hood are painted on. I had a minor fender bender in 2006 on the passenger side and the paint and graphics on that side date from 2006. The paint and graphics on the drivers side are all original and still decent. Although highly optioned, this Jeep was sold new with only the factory soft top and soft doors. The complete soft top and doors and all related hardware are included with all new material. I added the hard top and correct style hard doors with roll up windows and original Laredo door panels. I had the doors painted to match the body. There is NO RUST anywhere on the body tub, frame or floors. There is minor paint loss on the floor in front of the driver's seat. I did not pick my painter well for painting the hard doors and there is minor rust bubbles beginning to appear under the paint next to the bottom of the windows (see photo). It's unusual to see the original insulation still complete and intact under the hood.INTERIOR: Interior and dash are beautiful. I had the drivers seat recovered and it is an excellent match for the Laredo style interior. New carpets have also been added throughout. All dials and gauges including the factory Laredo tachometer are 100% operational except the hands on the clock don't turn. All signals, stops, turn, hazard, and lights work correctly including the rare factory Marchal fog lights. Included are the original jack tools and owner’s manual.DRIVETRAIN: Engine starts, idles and runs beautifully, lots of power, a pleasure to drive. Original air cleaner & emissions equipment have been removed and are included. Transmission has been rebuilt and shifts nicely. Locking front hubs and 4-wheel drive all work correctly. The suspension features an Old Man Emu CJ to YJ conversion which beefs up the front leaf springs and adds a mild two inch lift. All leaf springs and shocks are Old Man Emu.
