1948 Mercury coupe: All Ford, Henry would approve of this build, powered by a rebuilt high-performance 289 and 3 speed automatic that came out of a 1967 Ford Fairlane GTA. The engine sounds great with dual exhaust, runs beautifully, shifts perfectly - including kick-down - and has plenty of power; drives nice and smooth down the road at 70 mph. Mustang II front suspension with power disc brakes, rear drum, Lokar shifter, power steering, new am/fm/mp3 in-dash custom-fit stereo, new electric 2-speed wipers. High-quality new wiring harness at time of build and all electric features work as they should: turn signals (front are hidden behind grille), parking lights (amber LED lights in front original parking lights), brake & headlights, back-up lamp, and custom chrome driving lights. Professionally upholstered with a Glide Engineering front seat. Could use new carpeting, but is ok as is. Blue metallic base coat/clear coat paint has silver "ghost flames" that were laid out really nice, but covered up with a little too much blue so are only visible in certain light - but still pretty cool! Solid car, doesn't look like it ever had any real rust repair, new tinted glass all the way around. Car comes with 3 ring binder supplied by previous owner detailing all parts used for the build. I drove this car 5 hours from my home to St Paul, MN for the Back to the Fifties car show in June of this year, and it ran great, no over-heating issues at all. Nice old hot rod at a great price, not perfect but priced appropriately, just get in it and drive it home! I could've sprayed the underside with rattle can flat black to make it look good, but I'd rather show you what it is. Personally I don't give a #$%@ what the underside looks like as long as the car looks good and drives nice down the road - and this one does. You won't be disappointed. Thanks for looking!
