Vehicle Detail
1981 Corvette with 4 speed manual transmission. Rare! Chevrolet only made 5,575 4 speed manuals that year. This car has every option except cruise control. I love the C3, but we are getting ready to build a new house so it’s time to downsize the toy collection to prepare for the move. The car runs and drives great, it has a new battery and alternator (last year). Everything you would want to know about the ’81 can be found here: http://www.vettefacts.com/C3/1981.aspx so I’ll tell you everything I know that is wrong and other things I know about it, and any Vette guy will nod his head after each one… -The passenger side headlight doesn’t always come up, it tries, just a little help with your finger and it pops up. Both go down just fine. -Passenger side power mirror doesn’t work -The rear end seal seeps, I wouldn’t’ call it a leak, few drops a month, my local Chevrolet dealer said it would under $150 parts and labor to fix, I just haven’t had the time -Check engine light is on. The only thing the computer controls is the timing in the car. Most ’81 owners, disconnect the computer, put a manual distributor on and remove the bulb -The smog pump is removed, but have retained all original parts -Radio has been replaced, still have the factory 8 track -It does have the removable luggage rack and bag -It has been repainted, but is original black-The A/C does work, tried it two days ago Please ask any additional questions. Car is sold as-is with no expressed warranty. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE
