Vehicle Detail
For sale is our 1989 Honda Civic Wagon. We purchased the car in September 2011 from the original owner who had kept the car in perfect condition. Not only the exterior and interior but mechanically as well. All service was completed at the same dealer the car was purchased from. All major 15/30/60k services were completed and all documentation of this was kept in a folder and given to me at the time of purchase. I have every service invoice dating back to 1989. When I purchased the car it had around 65,000 miles. It now has just over 98,000. The car has never been driven in snow and has always been garaged. Clean Florida title in hand. My wife and I have enjoyed the car very much but a move overseas means the car must be sold. I will try to describe everything as thoroughly and honestly as possible but if you have any questions please contact me via email and I can send you my phone number. If you would like to view the vehicle before bidding let me know. Engine:The engine has been well maintained and operates very well. It runs smoothly and does not use any oil, does not smoke, or make any unusual noises. It has had all major services completed per the Honda dealer's maintenance schedule. The timing belt and water pump were replaced by the dealer at 61,000 miles. Transmission:It is an automatic, a manual would be preferred but I don't believe the original owner would have purchased a manual transmission car. This may be one of the reasons why this car is in such great condition so I learned to live with it. The transmission shifts fine, has been regularly serviced, and has given us no problems. Air conditioning:The air conditioning works great. The system is charged with R12. The original owner had the compressor and expansion valve replaced at 46,039 miles and the evaporator and drier replaced at 56,560 miles. All work was completed at the dealer and the system has not needed any work done since then. Suspension/ wheels, tires:The tires were replaced at 72,385 miles. I installed the best 13" tires I could find (Michelins). I also replaced the left front axle then the car was aligned. At 82,190 miles I replaced all 4 struts. The car tracks perfectly and the tires wear evenly. Exterior:Honda calls this color Almond Creme. It is a creamy beige sort of color. All paintwork is original except for the hood and front fenders. I am not sure why these panels were painted as no evidence of a collision or damage can be seen. I did not notice this for a month or so after purchase and aside from a bit of overspray on one of the corner lenses it is very hard to tell because I believe the paintwork to be very well done. The only spot of rust is very minimal and is located near the left tail lamp (see photo). All door glass is original as is the windshield. All lamps and lenses are original and in great shape. We were involved in a minor accident about three months after we purchased the car. Because of this the right side of the rear bumper is pushed in slightly. I can explain the accident more thoroughly over the phone if needed. Interior:The interior is brown/beige. All of the seats are in perfect condition, no stains, tears, holes. The dashboard has one small crack in the middle between the windshield and the rectangular block off plate. Both front door panels are in perfect condition. The left rear door panel is perfect as well but the right rear panel inner weatherstrip appears to have been cut. The windows were tinted in the early '90s, maybe the damage is from this? The carpets are very clean showing no stains or rips. There are a few small holes that appear to be from a cigarette. The interior has a very faint smell of smoke but to be honest I have never had a passenger mention this. Audio:The factory AM/FM radio and cassette work great. All radio functions operate as designed. I installed a new set of speakers in the front doors, the originals were defective. No modifications were made to the door panels. A $500.00 deposit via paypal is due within 24 hours of end of auction. The remainder is due within 7 days of auction end (certified check or cash, no paypal). If no contact is made within 24 hours, I reserve the right to re-list the vehicle or sell it to the next high bidder. Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle. I live less than 10 miles from Ronald Reagan National Airport in Washington DC so we can coordinate a pickup/ delivery if needed. I reserve the right to end the listing if the vehicle is no longer available for sale, it is also listed locally. Please do not bid on this auction unless you are serious about owning this vehicle. On Jul-30-15 at 13:01:01 PDT, seller added the following information: Please note that the car has been driven daily since listing was created and mileage should be around 99,050 when auction ends.
