Vehicle Detail
Hello, I have 1991 Maxima (Nissan), It is real rusty and has a bad auto transmission, that is the bad news, but the engine runs awesome, So essentially I am selling it for the engine. It will fit many other Nissans of a similar age. Has aftermarket CD player, runs great and drives, but 2nd and 3rd slip. Everything else works and it has fair tires. You can hear it run at my house and drive it, it drives good too, except for the tranny.. I have full and clear title. Not sure but think the engine has been done much more recently than the miles suggest. We got it for a high schooler to drive, and now she has a better car. The engine alone is probably worth a $1,000+ but, I want it gone. Again it always runs awesome and does not burn oil. Buyer must pick the car up within a week of auction. The buyer is responsible for verifying engine compatibility. The engine is the 3.0 liter V6, . The VG30E was an engine that had been used in the Maxima, as well as the first generation Nissan 300ZX. I was told these also fit but, you are responsible for compatibility, although I BELIEVE that almost all these can be exchanged from this era, this is just for reference. ZG30E-- The 3.0 L (2,960 cc) VG30E produced 153 hp (114 kW) and 182 lb·ft (247 N·m). Bore is 3.43 in (87 mm) and stroke is 3.27 in (83 mm). In 300ZX form, it produced 160 hp (120 kW) and 173 lb·ft (235 N·m). On April 1987 the "W" series VG30 was released, adding 5 horsepower but leaving torque unchanged. In 1989, the Maxima received the 160 hp (120 kW) rating, but also used a variable intake plenum improving torque to 182 lb·ft (247 N·m) @3200 rpm. It was used in the following vehicles: 1984–1989 Nissan 300ZX (160 hp/165 hp) 9.0:1 compression ratio for NA1984–1989 Nissan Laurel1985–1994 Nissan Maxima (160 hp)1987–1988 Nissan 200SX SE1988–1996 Nissan Homy & Caravan series E241990–1992 Infiniti M30/Nissan Leopard1990–1995 D21 Hardbody Truck1990–1995 Nissan Pathfinder/Nissan Terrano1992–1999 Nissan Gloria/Nissan Cedric (179 hp)1993–1998 Nissan Quest/Mercury Villager (modified to become a non-interference design) VG33E- 1996–2000 Nissan Pathfinder1996–2004 Nissan Pathfinder In Australian Models1997–2000 Infiniti QX41999–2004 Nissan Frontier2000–2004 Nissan Xterra1997–2002 Nissan Elgrand1999–2002 Nissan Quest/Mercury Villager A major difference between the VE30DE and the VG30DE engine is the heads. The low under-hood clearance on the 1992–1994 Nissan Maxima demanded a special head to be developed with 30°, rather than 46°, between the valves. Lack of space also demanded a redesigned camshaft drive system, so a special chain drive was developed. The engine is otherwise similar to the VG30DE. VE30DE The 3.0 L (2960 cc) VE30DE produces 190 hp (142 kW) at 5600 rpm and 190 lb·ft (258 Nm) at 4000 rpm. This engine redlines at 6600 rpm. It was built from July, 1991 through March, 1994.
