Vehicle Detail
0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false This is a beautiful bike that I have refurbished to be a smooth and reliable long distance tourer or daily rider. It has the monolever rear suspension and is a delight to ride, nimble, torquey, braking well, and shifting easily and smoothly. It is easy to maintain and repair. The battery, starter, ignition and charging systems, windshield, and suspension were upgraded. The clutch has been totally replaced. The transmission has been given the remedy for "missing circlip" problem. It runs cool, uses little or no oil, and routinely gets 50+ mpg. All lubricating fluids are high-grade synthetics. It is always kept in a garage serviced as per BMW schedules. It comes with the stock and Corbin seats and the BMW hard luggage locking with the ignition key. I am the third owner and it has been mine for 7 years and 15,000 miles. I have replaced or upgraded: hand grips (2008) all control cables, fuel system hoses, intake system runners (2008) push rod tube seals (2008) spark plug wires (2008) heavy duty Toyota-manufactured starter (source: Motorrad Electric, 2008) Endurolast 450 Watt charging system (brushless no-maintenance, 2008)) Odyssey PC927 AGM battery (2012) VDO dash mounted voltmeter (2014) Alpha electronic timing & ignition system (Motorrad Electric, 2013)) Dyna coil (Motorrad Electric, 2013) PIAA dual horns (2008) Works Performance remote reservoir rear shock (2008) Progressive Suspension fork springs, refurbed forks, seals (2014) brake system completely rebuilt with new hoses, parts, and seals (2008) rear main seal and oil pump cover seal replaced (2009) complete clutch assembly replaced (2009) transmission output shaft "missing circlip" problem remedied (2009) input/output transmission shaft bearings/seals replaced (2009) neutral sensor switch replaced (2011) Clearview windshield with adjustable vent added (2014) upper dash panel replaced (2014) Bing carburetors completely rebuilt with Bing kit (2014) It has an owner's manual and a complete tool kit. The original owner is said to have dropped the bike at low speed on the right hand side. Repairs done to the lower fairing mounts and scratches on the underside of the header confirm this. I have found no fault with handling or alignment and the fairing aligns and fits properly. The bike was repainted BMW Mystic Blue by the second owner and the quality of the paint is good. There are no cracks or major scratches in the fairing, but the front of the fairing and windshield are pitted from encountering a sandstorm. The pits are small and do not show well in the photos. The saddlebags were scratched but also repainted. The saddlebags fit securely. The bike will come with service and repair manuals, the special tools I purchased for drive train servicing and repair, and serviceable electrical components that replaced with upgrades. Value of these is several hundred dollars. Will meet your shipper or deliver to any location within 250 miles of Albuquerque, NM.
