2003 FREIGHTLINER SPRINTER 325k Miles NEW PAINT NO RESERVE AUCTION I bought this van about 1 month ago to help move my mother from WI to TX... It worked great and helped save alot of $ with the move.... When I got done with the move a mechanic friend and I decided to fix it up/clean it up a little bit before I put it back up for sale. He owed me some favors.... We started with the body which was/is in really good shape to begin with... There was very little rust to start with(no holes just surface rust)... Every single little rust spot was ground down to metal and properly primed with etching primer... It was the repainted with white automotive acrylic enamel with hardener... The paint job turned out great and with a little wet sanding it could look even better!!! All the rims and grill where also painted with a dark metallic grey... Overall the body/underbody is in great shape.... Its not rotted out like most Sprinters are.... Mechanical: During the trip at times the engine had trouble starting when it was hot at operating temp... It was determined that the fuel injectors needed to be replaced... We replaced all 5 of them when I got back to WI!!! They costed over $1100( see receipt picture)...It runs real nice now!!! The injectors have less than 100 miles on them now... We also changed all the filters---air/oil/cabin.. The transmission was replaced by the prior owner and has about 60k on it now... While working on it the wire/plug for the transmission was was unhooked so that we could attach/hang it on the body better---The little plastic clips that hold the wire loom where not attached very good..... Anyways we started it up without the wire plugged in and now the computer put it into a limp mode---- It starts/stays in 2nd gear (40mph) and and reverse only.... The Mercedes dealer verified that the computer needs to be reset when this happens--- They want $250 to do this and have no availability till next week Thur. I REPEAT there are no problems with the transmission...ITS FINE other than this!!! All the windows work properly.. The power door locks do not work? I just locked it manually... All the glass in in great shape/No cracks or chips... The interior/seats are in great shape! Breaks are good... Tires are at about 60% Ac does not work? This would be a great van for anyone wanting a nice looking Sprinter for cheap... Its already saved me about $3000 with the move and owes me nothing... I am too busy to burn up a day at the dealer to make it fully right!!! Therefore its a No Reserve auction.. Heck I'll even sell it ouside of Ebay for the right price..
