Vehicle Detail
1984 Pininfarina Spider Azzurra 2000 (Fiat Spider) 5 speed, AC, pwr windows, good condition. Runs great, garage kept in So CA its entire life, well maintained over the years by reputable Fiat shop in Los Angeles, Culver Imports. Have all receipts and records going back to when it was new in 1984. Has no rust. Engine has 24k on rebuild, trans has about 35k miles on rebuild. Has a lot of power, gets up and goes, very fun to drive. Perfect CARFAX, no accidents, the 12 issues are smog checks for CA. Body and paint in good original condition, still waxes up nice but has some scratches and few very minor door dents not very noticeable. Has some paint fading in area in front of windshield. Leather interior is in original good condition, looks good but not perfect, no tears, very nice carpet, dash, and doors. Top was replaced and in good condition but vinyl rear window has some clouding in lower area from setting in convertable position over the last couple years. Has boot cover which goes over top when open and it's good cond. Just put the key in, put the top down, and go. Has a fairly new stereo, speakers under dash in foot well, looks and sounds good, plays from iphone, mp3, CD, FM/AM. AC works and blows however needs a charge, it was serviced in 2012, no leaks, blows fine but not cold as it was when charged 3 yrs ago. Also passenger door window does go up and down but does slowly. Driver window works very well. Rear bumper is included, should be the last picture. Rear bumper was removed years ago and was left out poorly covered, needs to be rechromed. Local chrome shop quoted me $500. Easily goes on with four bolts, all included, as well as the rubber pieces which are in good condition. This is a fun car that is a collectible. I bought a new roadster so don’t have room for the Fiat anymore unfortunately. For a brief summary on Pininfarina and the Fiat Spider history, please see bottom of this description. Sale includes all receipts, original owners manual, original owners warranty service book, and original sales brochures. Also includes a high quality car cover designed for the Spider by Beverly Hills Coaches.Click on youtube link to see a test drive. History in brief: Pininfarina (company) has been a highly regarded designer and coach builder in Italy since 1930. Originally founded by Battista "Pinin" Farina, his family business designed and built several of the most beautiful and collected cars in history, many for Ferrari, and other auto companies such as Fiat, BMW, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Peugeot, Lancia, GM, Volvo, and Bentley. Pininfarina designed and built the Fiat Spider for Fiat from 1966 until 1982, when Fiat decided to discontinue the Spider. Pininfarina wanted to continue the Spider and bought the rights from Fiat, and the 1983 Pininfarina Spider Azzurra was born. Truthfully it was the same car as the Fiat Spider 2000, only marketed by Pininfarina, with Pininfarina logos, emblems and documentation. The 83-85 Spider is not only the best optioned and highest horsepower Spiders, but also among the most collected years, and most rare. 1985 was it’s last year, as Pininfarina states that sales had slowed and they needed to prepare their factory for the upcoming launch of their design for Cadillac Allante’. On Jun-30-15 at 08:22:06 PDT, seller added the following information: Adding a note on the dash, it does have two cracks as seen in picture. On Jul-02-15 at 14:58:26 PDT, seller added the following information: Per request from several who asked, I put up more pictures of: faded paint in front of windshield, front seats, chassis number, manuf. plate, and underneath car.
