Beautiful 1981 Chevrolet C3 Corvette. #2,885 of 8,995 built off the first year assembly line at the Corvette plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Beige color code 50 exterior paint with gold pinstriping and rare beige camel cloth interior. 350ci L81 190HP 5.7 liter V8 engine with automatic transmission. 46,416 original miles. Never driven in winter. 3rd owner and I have only driven 2,000 miles since November 2010. Glass t-tops, rear defrost, AM/FM stereo radio, cruise control, hideaway headlights, tachometer, dual exhaust. I purchased without air conditioning connected and have most new parts to re-install. Additional new OEM ignition parts and new after-market accessories (two wood dash kits, black Corvette door sills, chrome exhaust extensions, etc.) included but not yet installed. Just don't have the time to get everything finished up. I ask because I am wondering if it was originally a two-tone Beige/Dark Bronze? If you look at the metal trim tag by the driver door HINGES, the tag will indicate 50L 50U if it was only Beige from the factory. If it was two-tone from the factory, the trim tag will indicate 50L 50U 74M. Could you check please?"My reply: Thanks for the question. I purchased with the understanding it was original paint and from everything I could see before buying that was the case. I also checked the plate and it says "50L 50U" only. On Jun-22-15 at 19:44:51 PDT, seller added the following information: Additional info messaged to me about the paint based on the VIN and metal trim tag on the door: "You have the earliest VIN of any 1981 Bowling Green (BG) single-color car that I have ever seen. If that is the original paint, your car certainly has been babied - your paint looks like it is in great condition! Your trim tag shows B 08A, which translates to 1981 (B), August (08), first week (A). I think you have an historically interesting Corvette - one of the earliest single-color BG Corvettes I've ever seen!"
