The rarest trans am 400 4 speed car! With only 1107 built from 100000 Trans Am models for the 1979 year . That means less then 2 percent were Bandit 4 speed cars. Even fewer had the deluxe Hobnail interior and even less were the desired all black. This car also has all of the best options: WS6, A/C, PW,PS,P 4 Wheel Disc Brakes/ Posi Trac,Power Antanae, Map light group. Also included with the car is the PHS packet that proves the pedigree of this rare car! About the car. The body is very rust free being a West Coast car. there is minimal rust in the trunk,( nothing on the rockers,frame rails or wheel arches) The car seems to have had a basic repaint years ago but seems to have had little to no filler used. the body seems like a easy resto. The only damage is from getting taped on the lr bumper and made some impact damage on the LR body panel. The panel will pull out easily at a shop with about 3-5 hrs labor. The engine in the car is not correct and doesn't run, as it is a 455 yf motor if I remember right. So I sourced the exact W72 4 speed A/C 400 engine from a 1979 Trans Am a complete PWH motor. this comes with the car and is on a pallet at my home. These motors are extremely hard to find as they stockpiled only 8000 motors for the 1979 model year. The good thing is any PWH 1979 Firebird motor is date,and vehicle correct. the only non match would be the motor VIN the rest is absolute 100 percent correct. This engine even has all of the correct parts even the special numbers matching carburetor used for the W72. Engine will need to be refurbished etc. Overall the car is a easy restoration even the dash is decent. I am moving out to Asia and am unable to take a car older then 10yrs old into the country. So I have no choice then to sell my dream project. car . These cars are bringing over 60K restored and gaining in value every year. Buy one now before you cannot afford to buy one!~
