The W109 is truly the last of the hand built vehicles assembled by a designated team at the Mercedes Benz factory in Stuggart. They are easily recognizable by its large chrome grille, curvy hood and fenders, and the double stacked chrome trimmed headlamps. These vehicle's were years ahead of their competitors with regards to engineering and style. With this vehicle's prominent lines, stance, and abundance of chrome, its is truly a Mercedes Benz vehicle that can not be confused with any other vehicle. This beautiful 300SEL was reported to have originated in Beverly Hills California with its first ownership until 1991. Second owner was a long time officer in the Mercedes Benz Club of America in Connecticut, and the vehicle was shown at numerous MBCA events. Recent work in 2006 included a complete restoration of the air suspension system which included all new OEM valves and air bags. New battery, brakes, window motors, fuel pump all within the past 10 years. The air suspension operates beautifully with no leakage and the vehicle has a firm and responsive ride. The vehicle runs and drives beautifully with a smooth shifting transmission. All power options function 100% with cold AC, smooth and fast power windows, and a fully functioning Becker head-unit with working power antenna. Vehicle received a high quality Sikken basecoat/clearcoat repaint 25 years ago and still shows beautifully. Exterior paint has a very high gloss finish which is well complimented with bright and clear chrome trim all around. Original glass is also crystal clear all around. The vehicle's black leather interior is simply stunning. Leather is still soft and supple and the seats are firm and supportive. All Zebrano wood inlays on dash, doors, and around windows are all in excellent condition with a mirror like shine. No cracks in dash or door panels.
