1979 Pontiac Trans Am Up for bids is a 1979 Trans am. Originally a 400 , 4spd car. Now sports a pontiac 350 motor with an automatic TH-400 Transmission, and 4:10 posi rear end. It is also an original A/C car but those components have been removes. The paint on the car is original, as are the decals. Blue exterior with the baby blue interior with deluxe upholstry seats. The interior needs a little bit of attention. The dash has a few cracks (very common for these cars), it needs new carpeting, and I have brand new door panels which need to be installed in the car. It is mechanically sound other that the drivers side header needs gasket replacement because of an exhaust leak at the number 5 cyl. Other than that the car runs , drives, stops, and performs very well. Last on the raod and driven daily last year 2014, then parked for the winter. It has after market rear wheel well spoilers which are a rare item and no longer produced. Stereo head unit is new along with new 6x9 speakers on a new rear package shelf. Some of the interior panels have been converted over to black as the new door panels are black as well. It sports the WS-6 8" snow flake wheels with all brand new raised whilte letter radials on them, and 4 wheel disk brakes. All the body lines line up real nice, there isn't any bondo on the car body, but the paint is a little faded and the decals are starting to show wear as well. The console is a 4 spd console but was also modified to accomidate the automatic factory shifter. The 4 spd pedals are still in the car along with all 4spd linkage still attached in case someone wanted to convert it back. The car will be sold in as is, where is condition because it is a private sale and therefore does not have a waranty. I reserve to end the auction early if the car is sold locally.
