This is a 1948 Mercury M-68 one ton pickup truck. The Bad: The radiator is missing. The engine is out and heads are off for inspection - found internal rust in valves mainly. The unit was inspected by an old time flathead rebuilder who is certain that the valves could be cleaned up by hand using valve grinding compound at minimal expense. The box planks are rotted away and there is no tailgate.The rear wheels are not standard but create a wider than original wheel stance. These modified wheels were adapted to the standard 8 bolt axles. Original wheels will bolt right back on. There is a dent between the grille and hood. The seat is torn on the drivers side and headliner is gone. The Good and Beautiful: The truck is equipped with a twin cylinder hoist neatly installed. There is almost no rust through and very little rust at all. This style of truck is popular and becoming very hard to find in this condition - ESPECIALLY the unique Mercury version.
