Vehicle Detail

Please read this entire listing before bidding. You are looking at a 1948 Oldsmobile 98 2-door fastback for parts or restoration. This was a late introduction 1948 model Oldsmobile that looks very similar to the 1949 model 98 with some significant differences. I hate to use the word rare because it is so overused these days to describe vehicles so I will let you be the judge. Have you ever seen one before? I purchased this car about four of five years ago with the intentions of restoring it but have come to the realization that I just don't have the time. This auction is for the car only, pick-up only, and no title. No title means it will be sold with a bill of sale only no transferable registration or title just a bill of sale. The car has a straight 8 engine that is not froze up or seized, it spins free. I have not attempted to start the engine. I have done nothing to it since I bought it. It is very rough and not for the faint of heart. It will need significant metal work including floors, rear tailpan, doors, inner and outer rockers, all glass with the exception of the rear window etc. The chassis is in surprisingly good shape and will be easy to work with. This is a drive-shaft type rear and had a very advanced chassis design given the year. Oldsmobile was really ahead of their time when this car was produced. My intention was to swap out the lazy straight 8 for the "new for 1949" Oldsmobile Rocket V-8. I have many parts for this car that I have been collecting over the years that I will make available to the new owner for a fair price if they are interested. Some of the parts are listed on ebay already. This auction is only for what you see in the pictures no extra parts. There is a very low reserve on this car as I need it sold asap. Once the car is sold I expect a one hundred dollar deposit within 48 hours. Unless otherwise discussed with me I need the car gone within two weeks of the sale date. I could possibly make some exception if we have open communication. I will be happy to answer any questions or provide more pictures to interested parties and I would strongly suggest that if possible to come and look at the car to see what you are getting into. Please make sure that you know how much this will cost to ship prior to your purchase so that my time and any other potential buyers time is not wasted when you want to cancel the sale because it costs to much to ship to (blank). I'm sorry if I sound like a jerk but it does take a certain amount of time and money to post things on ebay and would prefer to only have to do it once. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
