Vehicle Detail
RARE OEM Stock and unmodified 95 Honda Civic VX White w/Blue interior 5 speed manual with Rare desirable lean burn engine technology VTEC-E high MPG package w/special light weight factory alloy wheels, gear ratio. Exterior of the car is very clean and nice for age (many comments received by observers on how nice the car looks for being 20 years old i.e. not a trashed kids car but a well cared for adult driven vehicle) with very nice fresh stock interior "non-smoker" (I had new factory carpet, new old stock OEM civic floor mats and oem visors/clock, new old stock civic OEM radio/cassette/led, new factory front speakers, plus installed rare new eom JDM factory rear speaker panels/speakers and also any wear on seat bolsters and door panels were professionally redone with matching factory cloth shortly after we purchased it. Wife wanted a fresh like new interior so I did my best as this was going to be her daily commuter car for the next 5 years. ONLY REASON FOR SELLING: The Honda VX still is very dependable, drives straight & runs great but my wife recently upgraded to a new VW TDI diesel, so we no longer need or have space for the Civic VX. The VX was a California car that I flew out to LA to purchase in 2008 and drove back to Illinois. At the time I purchase it, it had 195,000 miles on chassis with approximately 30,000 miles on a new dealer installed JDM factory VTEC-E replacement engine. Before driving back to Illinois, I had Honda dealer put new fluids, new CV joints and tires installed. The Honda drove superbly from CA to Illinois without any issues actually getting near 60 mpg at times on slower highway routes. At about 210,000 miles I put a new timing belt on the engine just to be safe although tech said old belt still looked visually good. Also new plug wires and NGKs were put on at that time. I have aways run full synthetic or synthetic blend oil and change it every 6,000 miles or lessPros:While odometer reads 258,130 engine has probably less than 100,000 actual miles on correct Honda JDM VTEC factory replacement motor which still runs smooth and strong along with smooth clutch on 5 speed manualNo Mods of any kind….Car is still totally factory spec with original light weight VX factory wheels.Since we purchased it ,90 percent of miles on car are highway commute from 60 mile interstate roundtrip to work.Has new set of 2015 Michelin Defender high mileage/mpg low rolling resistance tires with less than 1000 miles on themAlso 2015: new radiator, new hoses, new front and rear brakes disc/rotors, new battery2014: new front suspension arms, shocks struts and alignment (also have new rear struts in box but not yet installed which will be included in auction)New Distributor 2013 along with NGK platinum tune up. New side replacement mirror installed2012 installed clear headlight units and high intensity bulbs as old ones were getting cloudyFactory A/C still works well and blows cold (recharge it every other year)Cons:White paint is starting to fade and a quarter size rust spot has started on front panel along with a very small amount on wheel well but overall car still looks very presentable and clean lines.Typical small dings and scratches on body reflecting 20 years of ageA slow oil leak has developed over the last few years so it does spot a bit and usually check and add about a 1/4 quart per month to be safe between oil changes. DOES NOT BURN OILSome annoying creaking noise at times when going on rough roads/brick streets & pot holes due to a worn out rubber steering column tube bushing…needs the new improved nylon bushing from Honda installed. Does not effect steering, handling or ride just creates an annoying creaking rattle at times.I still have a number of service records, documentation, owners manual sticker price reflecting EPA of 47 city 56 highway. Its a fairly simple vehicle, no power brakes or steering yet starts right up and the 16 valve VTEC-E seems to function perfectly, drives straight and accelerates strong when you don’t need lean burn mode. It has never left us stranded and I truly think these civics will run forever if they are properly maintained. *MANY BONUS EXTRA PARTS COME WITH CAR:OEM NOSE BRA, INTERIOR PIECES, 2nd NEW SPARE OEM HONDA CASSETTE RADIO W/CD IPOD CAPABILITY LED DISPLAY, NEW REAR STRUTS IN BOX, EXTRA PARTS, ETC..... **ALSO WILL INCLUDE EXTRA SET OF 4 OEM FACTORY LIGHT WEIGHT ALUMINUM VX WHEELS WITH "BUY NOW" OPTION. VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD "AS IS" CONDITION BY PRIVATE SELLER. I TRIED TO BE VERY DESCRIPTIVE AND HONEST WITH RESPECT TO THE CARS OVERALL CONDITION BUT PLEASE EMAIL IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST! Additional INFO: Dear neomoogle, You are welcome...also wanted to mention with new Michelins and struts ride and handling is very good. This is my 3rd VX, I bought a teal one new in 95 and was rear ended/totaled while I was stopped for a school bus in 2001, bought a used red 1994 VX to replace it and regretted selling it so I bought this white 95 VX in 2008. Once you get one you are hooked....they don't ride or handle like a small car, tons of cargo space in hatch, 16V engine has great power when needed and sips fuel without hybrid complexity. I always felt very empowered driving by the pumps on long trips with the paid off title in the glove box...I am going to miss that! To me it's just a nuisance because of the spotting on the garage floor. I have been checking oil every few weeks and it is always clean and never is below operating range. I just add some to bring it to the maximum level This will really make a nice commuter for someone...I drive it from downstate Illinois to Chicago periodically (about 400 miles round trip on about 8 gallons with air on going 70mph ) and it always is dependable & performs well To get really high mileage 50 mpg plusyou have to keep it below 2500 rpm in 5th in lean burn mode around 65 mph or less I am going to load more photos soon but condition is very good On 6/1/15, 12:40 PM, neomoogle wrote: Vehicle condition: neomoogle sent a message about Honda : Civic VX #261909885060 The car looks great, just one quick question. Do you know where the oil leak is coming from? I'm just wondering if there is any damage to the block. Thanks in advance! - lascs
