Vehicle Detail
NOTE: the 1st picture is from 10years ago....all others are from now (clear coat is coming off in places) I have a 1999 Grand Marquis that I have owned since new. It has 300K miles on it. It runs fine but has a few little things wrong that would cost a lot for a mechanic to do but could be done for under $200 if you do the labor. Problems are: 1. Timing chain needs replaced........I have new one, just needs installed 2. Rear window motors...$50/pair, (50$ to install if you cant do the work) 3. A/C works but the "blend door" actuator is out ($28...and it is hard to get to) 4. The paint is ok but the clear is coming off the hood, trunk and one fender. 5. small rip in driver seat. THe GOOD; this car runs and is currently licensed and I am driving it as a daily driver. It has had the recalled manifold replaced. there are no dents and all glass is in good shape everthing works (ac mentioned above) The Rims are worth $700 on ebay. This car can be parted out for over $5000 if you have the time. I do not expect to get $2000 for it. If you are good with a wrench you can fix the little things and have a very decent car or you can take it apart and make money just look on ebay at the price for the parts to this car. RIMS; $175 EACH hood $450 trunk lid $350 doors $500 EACH motor $450 (after timing chain is fixed) transmission $350 front seats $300 each rear seat $200 AC compressor and coils $200 computer $100 TOTAL......................$5100 at best prices......$3000 more realisticly There are many other parts....like drive line, and lights and fenders etc..... all in good shape There are many more parts and I do not expect that you would buy this car to part it out, I only list these things to show that the car has real value even if it were not running, but it is. You could make the minor repairs and then drive the car for a long time and when it quits running, get all of your money back out of it by selling parts. Thanks for reading
