Vehicle Detail
*I made the mistake of ending the listing early last week because someone left me a deposit on the car and said they would pay the balance by today 5/26. Unfortunately they weren't able to complete the transaction so it's back up for sale. This time I will let the auction run until the end and sell it to the highest bidder. Thank you. Up for sale is my beautiful and unique 1962 Lincoln Continental sedan. Perfect example of an original California rust-free classic that's never left the state. I am only the 3rd owner to the car and it has just over 70k original miles. This Lincoln sat covered in a warehouse for two decades before I purchased it a few years ago and began restoration. All the chrome and stainless steel trim is original to the car and most of it has been re-chromed or polished. Nothing is missing on it and everything looks just as it should. Runs excellent and can definitely be used as a daily driver. New paint, interior, chrome, and everything in between. Clean CA title in hand. It has the factory 430 v8 and 3-speed auto trans with 70k original miles. Engine was resealed and serviced recently. Runs perfect and doesn’t leak a drop of oil. These cars are notorious for leaky gaskets and power steering systems. I also just had the carburetor rebuilt last month, installed a new starter, fuel pump, plugs, wires, and changed all the fluids. Car is mechanically sound and feels like you're riding on a cloud at any speed. It’s a big heavy car but has plenty of power with that big block engine under the hood (320hp/465 lb-ft torque). Car is very reliable and starts right up even if it’s been sitting for days. Engine bay is clean and looks stock. The suspension, power steering, and power brakes all work great and it drives very easy for such a large car. No squeaks or rattles from drive-train and engine is very quite as well. The new red interior was all done last year which included front and rear seat upholstery with new seat foams, door panels, carpet, perforated headliner, dash detail, trunk area carpet and custom tire cover with embroidered Lincoln emblem ($4,000 interior invoice). Both front and rear 3 piece bumpers were triple chromed and look mint! Also re-chromed door handles, side mirror, emblems, interior chrome trim, and polished all the stainless steel moldings, I spent over $3,000 on chrome alone. The car was painted two years ago with a nice two stage black paint job that looks great. Car has all original sheet metal and it has never been in an accident. It's never had any rust issues or metal repairs done to it either. Everything lines up perfect and doors open and close like the day it rolled off the assembly line. Bodywork is very straight and looks excellent from any angle. Known issues; Needs new stereo speakers, needs a power seat switch, all 4 power windows work but two of the switches on the master driver switch need to be rebuilt or replaced, A/C system needs to be serviced. The car has always been registered with classic 60’s California black plates but they were misplaced by the body shop so you will be issued new ones when you register the car. Tags were last paid in 2011 and it wasn’t put under non-op with the DMV so if you are registering the car in California there’s $720 in back fees. That only applies to CA buyers, if you are registering the car in a different state or out of the country those DMV fees obviously don’t apply. Aside from that she’s good to go and doesn’t need much more to be 100%. This Lincoln turns heads and gets thumbs up whenever I drive it. If you don't like constant attention this car is not for you. It’s available for inspection by any serious bidder during this auction so feel free to call and set up and appointment (714)351-9372. Like any other classic car it is being sold in AS IS condition and there is no warranty included in this sale. Please ask questions if you are unsure of anything prior to bidding. View my feedback and bid with confidence. This is a No Reserve listing and it will go to the highest bidder no matter what. Thanks for viewing my listing. A wise person once told me, “Every man should take a beautiful girl out to dinner, eat a steak entrée, and drive a 62’ Lincoln at least once in their life” =)
