Up for auction is a 1972 Volkswagen Super Beetle. Let me first start by saying this is not a turn key car. Don't buy this expecting to drive it any time soon. I can say that the vehicle rolls nice and it does run with a external gas can hooked up. I believe the fuel line from the tank back is clogged because fuel doesn't reach the motor. I bought this as an already started project and have been too caught up with other projects and am running out of room. Although this is not the biggest car in the world, it is still taking up space for other projects I need to get done. The car was originally a light blue as far as I can tell from paint under the carpet and under the gas tank. It was resprayed a really neat maroon color. The original trim was taken off the vehicle and the holes were welded shut. The turn signals were also removed off the front fenders and plugged shut. I still have the trim (not sure if it's all there and some pieces need repaired) and I have the turn signals as well. It's not too late to undo those changes. The car needs a lot of rust repair, some of which appears to be structural. It would certainly be a good long project to keep someone occupied, or you can do what I was going to do and use the drive train and suspension to make a dune buggy and part out the rest. There is a place in PA that sells dune buggy frame kits for around $400-600 depending on what all you want. This is probably the best option for the car. There are still a lot of good parts left on it that can be sold for cash if you go the dune buggy route. Have boxes of parts that come with car. Most of the parts you see missing I do have. Tail lights, carpet, rear seats, headlights, etc. Most importantly I have the clean and clear title! Use the title and vin plate to make a street legal dune buggy! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves, but if you have any addition questions please be sure to let me know. I cannot deliver this car but I can make myself available for shippers if you have a hauler pick it up.
