Vehicle Detail
Started this project truck over 15 years ago. However, life changes have prevented me from ever finishing my dream project. But then 911 took place. I had the heads rebuilt and completely disassembled the engine which was only burning oil and likely needed a ring job and cleaning of cylinders. I also had the radiator and heater core cleaned inspected and repainted by radiator shop. Overhauled steering column. Purchased new front fenders and grill from a dealer in San Jose, Ca years ago as one fender was dented and grill. Also acquired most front chrome. There was an after market flatbed on the truck which is discarded. The truck was being used as a concrete foundation hauling truck at the time. I had intended on having a stake side built but again, life has taken some turns for me and it has taken every ounce of my soul to prevent from ever admitting I must part with this dream. I meticulously tagged and labeled every piece of hardware as I disassembled the truck. The only rust was exterior pieces such as step boards, which I still saved for rebuild. There is some damage to drivers door hinge (a bolt stripped inside when removing). Have oack glass for cab but front glass was broken unfortunately during one move. I have stored all pieces in a rain free building except for the rolling chassis which has been parked outside (the tires still hold air!). I can supply more pictures to serious bidders. Most of these pictures were from when I moved from Utah to Florida in 2005 when I first went to Iraq due to 911. The life turns which followed have forced the project to remain on hold until now. I am hoping someone can see this project through or at least use what I have here to complete their own dream. I paid $500 for this running truck in 2002 and began the dis-assembly shortly thereafter. I even purchased a slant 6 cylinder and auto-trans from a friend with plans at one point to replace the original 315 poly-hemi. I had sent the Cam shaft for regrind and, subsequently with my duty in Iraq and move while there, lost the records of where it was sent so the only part missing from the engine is the camshaft. The engine and rebuilt heads have obviously become surface rusted, but this is not heavy and easily stripped.
