Vehicle Detail
A numbers matching, rust free California car all its life. Recently removed from storage after 14 years, this car now starts, runs and stops. Equipped with a "C" code 289 V-8 2 barrel and 3 speed manual transmission, Factory Air, Power Steering and Brakes. The compressor turns and the fan works on all speeds. The air is not ice cold, so the unit will need charged. The engine date code is 6C4, March 4, 1966, and the car was assembled in San Jose on March 22, 1966. According to the paint codes I found, this car was originally Silver, however there is no evidence of this color underhood, behind the backseat or in the trunk. In the late 80's, half of the car was re-painted with a red enamel appearing paint that did not adhere to the surface. Small bubbles formed that have grey primer below them when popped. This is not rust, I have found no rust anywhere on this car. The floor pans and wells in the trunk are rust free. There is a dime size bubble below the drip rail behind the quarter window on the passengers side, and a smaller bubble below the back window trim. The interior is in great shape except for the 2 tears in the drivers seat. The brakes are new due to leaking wheel cylinders. The engine does not leak or smoke. It starts at the turn of the original pony ignition key, and run smoothly. The clutch is smooth and the fully synchronized 3 speed transmission shifts normally. The windows are fully functional, but there are tears in the weathstripping. The speedometer ia showing 57K miles, and from some records where it was serviced regularly at Senator Ford in Sacramento, my best guess is 157K, but I don't know for sure. The car was last driven to high school by a friends daughter, and was sold after being in the family for 27 years. I have no prior history. You may email or call with questions, Verle 916-761-3421
