1974 Super Beetle - Has been stored out of the weather for almost 100% of the past 15 years. Comprehensive refurbishment of engine and brakes in 2008 (specific details available upon request), with an estimated 800 miles logged since. Excellent body, good paint and five essentially new tires. Minor rust in pan, but has been reinforced with fiberglass. Without modifications to dash, AM radio was replaced with gauges (oil temp, oil pressure and volts). Interior has been refurbished as needed, including new headliner, dash cover and windshield. Speedometer works, but odometer does not. Reads 75105, but cannot verify actual mileage. Has the potential to place in a show as a far above average daily driver. Minor front accident in 2008, resulting in damage to hood and front right fender (photos available upon request). Repairs included new body parts and proper paint (see current photos). I will be glad top provide additional details available on request.On May-17-15 at 11:13:42 PDT, seller added the following information: Updated - May 15At age 16 my daughter wanted an older Beetle as her first car and I chose this model for its safety features over earlier models. These include seat belts with shoulder straps, more distance between the occupants and the windshield surface and a two-piece steering column shaft. Unfortunately she found out the hard way that a VW with 4 passengers does not stop in the same distance as with driver only. Fortunately there were no injuries nor was their damage to the frame, steering or suspension. I included a photo to illustrate the extent of damage during this accident. Proper repairs have since been done with new body panels and fresh paint, as illustrated in the balance of the photos shown with this listing. I would estimate that about 800 miles have been logged on this engine since its comprehensive overhaul. This included line boring of the cases, new bearings and top end repairs as warranted. At last check compression in each cylinder was between 120 and 125 PSI. Engine is quick to crank, does not smoke and has the amount of power you would expect from a new original equipment engine. Excellent body, good paint, new windshield and good glass in other windows. Minor rust in pan, but has been reinforced with fiberglass. Approximately 800 miles has been logged since replacement of the brake linings, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, parking brake cables and turning of the brake drums. Likewise mileage on the (5) 185/65-R15 tires (see photo for tread wear). The original AM radio has been replaced with gauges (oil temp, oil pressure and volts). An audio input jack in the dash now feeds an amplifier mounted below the rear seat that drives speakers mounted behind the rear seat. Interior is in very good condition with new headliner and dash cover. Speedometer works, but odometer does not. Reads 75105, but cannot verify actual mileage.
