This is a no-reserve auction. Please bid only if you intend to purchase the vehicle. 1987 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe 5-speed manual. Purchased new in North Carolina on 11/30/87 and has stayed with the owner in NC until very recently. Light blue exterior with dark blue leather interior. The overall condition of this Thunderbird is consistent with a single-owner, garage kept vehicle that was driven lightly. There are no major signs of abuse or neglect and the car presents itself as an honest, original paint, well-kept '87 model. With all original VIN panels in place, the body and paint on this Thunderbird are in good, driver-quality shape. There are minor scuffs and scratches in places but all of the exterior rubber, chrome, and other trim is in good shape and free of sun-fade. There are a handful of parking lot dings and a soft crease above the door molding on the driver side front fender. The front end of the car is mostly free of stone chips however the front windshield molding shows several stone chips. There are some scuffs on the front and rear bumper moldings. This is a driver quality car, it has some blemishes and imperfections consistent with a 28 year old vehicle. It s not in collector quality condition. The underbody is clean with no signs of rust or fluid leaks. Both sides of the engine block and transmission bellhousing are clean and dry. There is some oil residue around the oil pan gasket but no fluid leaking on the ground. The dark blue leather non-smoker interior has also held up very well and shows signs of light use. Dashboard, stitching seams, plastic trim, and rear parcel shelf show no signs of sun damage. Carpets and original floor mats are in excellent condition. Aside from one part of the lower driver seat that the owner covered with black tape, the interior looks very good for the age. Running and driving condition of this Turbo Coupe are excellent. It fires right up on a cold start and quickly settles at idle speed. The transmission shifts very well into all gears with tight, precise shifts and the clutch take-up is solid. The turbo spools properly and all gauges on the instrument panel work fine. Suspension and steering are tight with no abnormal noises, steering play, wheel shake or pull. The driving condition of this Turbo Coupe will not disappoint. Working electrical items include power windows and locks, all power seat functions, power antenna, radio, HVAC, cruise control and lighting. The power sunroof does not work. The A/C does not blow cold. The working odometer reads 108,xxx miles. However, the Carfax report does show an odometer discrepancy from mileage recordings during NC state inspection in 2005 and 2007.
