Vehicle Detail

You are viewing a light blue 1979 Corvette. This was our first purchase on eBay, and since then we've built excellent feedback from buying and selling. I am disclosing every attribute and every flaw so that you can make an informed decision without any surprises.I had plans to update the car but am unable to work on it much due to my health. My health has cause me to lose my job and I have to sell my Vette because we need the money. This Corvette is equipped with a 383 stroker from AR Racing in Summerduck, VA. This is a solid lifter motor that makes 465 hp and about 500 ft-lbs of torque. The automatic transmission is a Bow Tie Overdrives stage II 2004r. I was driving it 60 miles per day to work and back, usually in bad traffic. This car is VERY fun to drive. It sounds SO good! A lumpy idle burbling through the chambered exhaust. While staring this car in parking lots, I've witnessed startled women jumping, frightened children (feel bad about that part), and every guy's head straining to see what was just unleashed. The original L48 goes with the car and is part of the auction but it needs to be repaired: it ran when I removed it, but was cracking rocker arms in one cylinder. Factory options: T-tops, A/T, A/C, PS, PB, PW, power locks, cruise. The A/C doesn't work very well, Power steering is fine, Power brakes work, but low engine vacuum occasionally makes the pedal hard at low speeds, Power windows work, but the Rt gear needs to be replaced (goes up to within 6" but can be pulled rest of way up. I have a new gear for it), power locks haven't worked since I've owned it (parts and wiring are there), neither has the cruise. The car is road worthy except for one really bad tire. They all could use replacing. I could still drive it anywhere, and if I don't sell it before, I'll pick up some used tires and drive it to Boise, ID when I move there in the next month or so. I've owned the car since 2002 and have replaced many items (lots of receipts). Here is a list of upgrades/repairs: As mentioned above AR Racing 383 Stroker, Bowtie OD Stage II 2004r, Hurst 1/4 stick shifter, Smart Struts, KYB shocks, Polyurethane suspension bushings, new ball joints, tie rod ends, and rebuilt trailing arms (rear), and rebuilt 3.36 differential, all from Van Steel. Dynomax ceramic headers, Mid America Chambered exhaust (everyone compliments me on the sound). Summit 600 cfm vac secondary carb (Holley HP750 mechanical secondary goes with it), Optima yellow top battery. The following are other parts that have been replaced: water pump, radiator, thermostat, hoses. Starter, HEI distributor, alternator, wiper motor, headlight switch, fuel pump, tank filler boot. Master cylinder, some of the calipers (others by previous owner), recent pads. Drivers door handle, window motor& gear. Power steering pump, cylinder, control valve, engine and transmission mounts. What it needs: tires, lower right control arm pivot shaft (parts go with it) results in pull to the right, passenger window gear (have part), wiper switch (currently using rocker) turn signal switch & lever (usable, but you have to hold). The vinyl on the seat bottom is torn on both seats, dash is cracked, top of door panels are cracked, carpet is torn in some areas, paint is crackled and faded (30 footer). The body is in decent shape, but there are two 1" cracks behind the rear wheel openings where ramps slipped from under the wheels. The body seals and T-Top seals need replacing. I've installed a new stereo, the power antenna receives stations, but doesn't go up and down. I can email additional photos of imperfections upon your request.
