Vehicle Detail
1991 Mercedes 350-SD 3.5 Liter Diesel 163,500 Original Miles. Black/Burgundy ~ PLEASE READ COMPLETE DESCRIPTION: VIN# WDBCB34E9MA579678 I helped a friend locate and purchase this car in 1998. Originally it was purchased in Louisville, Ky. at James Mercedes. Mercedes are a hobby of mine. I purchased it from him in 2012. I have the original books and records (a file folder) going back to 1991.This car was mechanically maintained very well. It has been used as an in town driver and gets very good fuel mileage. The exterior of the car is average, it has door dings along with scratches etc. The car was never in a wreck/accident. All panels are original with vin numbers. The interior of the car is in good condition. The dash has zero (o) cracks, which is rare. The wood is in above average condition The seats sit firm, the leather is in good condition with the exception of one tear on the front of the drivers seat. The car is all original, the stereo was sent out and the head and amplifier were rebuilt. The original under body pans are both in place. Original tools are with the spare. The trunk is dry, no leaks. All systems function as intended. A/C, windows, door locks, sunroof etc. The tires are matched and have 10,000 -15,000 miles life left. I serviced the transmission last year. Filter, pan gasket and fluid, torque converter was drained. It shifts very well, does not shift hard. The ideal purchaser of this car would be a do-it-yourselfer/mechanic. One that is familiar with these cars and the idiosyncrasies of the OM-603 3.5 engine. It is time for lower ball joints, the new ones are in the trunk. There is a new flex disc in the truck also, along with a spare set of front calipers, used in good condition. I just changed the oil and filter. I replaced the thermostat and flushed the cooling system 4 months ago. The drive shaft is going to need to be rebalanced. I replaced one center carrier bearing and it is a spline off. There is a slight vibration between the speeds of 25 to 32 MPH. The engine idles and runs smoothly. ***NOTE: There was a minor amount of oil residue in the coolant tank when I flushed the system. So I believe it is going to need a head gasket soon. The engine has never been over heated or run hot. This is not a big complicated project for someone that knows what they are doing. I have my hands full with other car/boat projects and do not want to let it just sit. I start and drive the car at least once a week. Nothing worse than letting them just sit.
