1965 Ford Ranchero Deluxe with the Original 289 Engine and Automatic Transmission in Absolutely Stunning Condition. This Car was at the Boston World Of Wheels Car Show 2 weeks ago where it won 1st place in the popular "Restored Pick-Up" category. I wasn't sure how we'd do in that popular category, and even thought the judges might have miscategorized this vehicle but, heck we came away with first place anyway! The truck has the original 289 V8 engine, though it has just been professionally rebuilt with new bearings, camshaft, lifters and piston rings. The engine has approximately 700 miles on the fresh rebuild. The transmission was rebuilt at about 38k miles and a valve body shift kit was added for firmer shifts. The car gets up and goes if you want it to, though I'm getting too old for that stuff and the wife isn't impressed by burnouts anymore. The body of the car is absolutely rust free. While the paint is fresh, the car was stripped to bare metal, a couple of dings were fixed here and there but there was ZERO rust/rot on this vehicle. This truck was originally shipped to San Jose Ford in Southern California where I believe it spent most of it's life before coming to Massachusetts a few years ago. I bought the car from a collector who had some other very fine Fords. The gentleman I bought the vehicle from said that he had it shipped from California and that the car had never seen snow. I've had the vehicle about 5 years and have never driven it in snow or crappy weather either. This is a beautiful truck that runs absolutely perfectly, goes as straight as an arrow down the street and is rock solid reliable, I'd drive this car across the country without a worry. It could be used as a daily driver or you could start collecting trophies at the car shows or both. If you are interested in this vehicle Ebay offers a service that you can have someone come out and evaluate it for you. I recommend that you do this. I have included photos of some of the people at the show who looked at the car last week, and you may be able to draw some conclusions from them as well. By the way, the reserve price I have set on this auction is about the same amount as that clapped out used Hyundai at the local car palace down the street.
