Vehicle Detail

I purchased this San Jose California DSO car from the original owner in San Diego in 1985. It's spent the last 30 years in Arizona and Texas. The car was originally dark green with black deluxe interior, automatic C-4, 2 bbl 289, manual drum brakes, and power steering. A restomod was begun in 2001 and completed in 2013. It was totally disassembled and stripped to bare metal. The only rust found was the driver side forward floor pan (caused by a leaking cowl vent-common), the drip rail on the passenger side, and some minor seam rust in the fender aprons/lower quarter panel wheel wells. These were repaired as well as minor door, roof, deck lid dents. The front fenders were replaced with NOS Ford as they had been modified for larger tires. A torque box was welded into the passenger side (like 68 on) for added frame strength. This is a solid car with all original Ford sheet metal (except the forward driver floorpan). The car got three coats of PPG epoxy primer, three coats of base, and six coats of clear with sanding between coats. Finish is in show condition. All interior areas were sprayed with POR products for future rust prevention. The rockers, door sills, and lower fender/quarter panel areas have 3M clear urethane tape applied to help prevent paint damage from road debris. This was built to be a show car/weekend driver. The car has spent more time parked in the garage these past few years than it should as I've pursued other interests. Time to pass her on for someone else to enjoy. On Apr-11-15 at 16:56:15 PDT, seller added the following information: In the interest of full disclosure, a gent who knows Mustangs came by today to inspect the car prior to making a bid/offer. He was impressed with the workmanship and integrity of the car but pointed out that the tires have small cracks in the tread valleys even though they have 98% tread on them . The tires have been on the car for about 15 years so will need to be replaced before any high speed/ hot weather driving. These are 225-60R15's to figure replacement cost.On Apr-13-15 at 14:52:33 PDT, seller added the following information: I'm getting a lot of questions about my "buy it now" price. I have a price in mind, but as seller, I am biased. Please submit your highest offer. If I think it's fair, I will coordinate with you to post a "buy it now" on a separate listing within the timeframe of the auction. On Apr-15-15 at 12:25:33 PDT, seller added the following information: I've had several questions about VIN and door data plate.
