Toyota FJ28 Chassis number "8-FJ28-2061". Check it on 'mud', it's the oldest FJ28 on there, possibly the oldest remaining in the world. This was imported before Thiess Brothers imported a few FJ25's into Australia to work on the Snowy Hydro Scheme, which started the Thiess Brothers to take on the dealership of Toyota in Australia. The chassis on this is stamped FJ28 (see pic) and the year is "8" meaning 1958. There is no more of these around... Very desirable car. It still goes, it can be driven around the yard, even though it's not in a road worthy condition at all. Don't think you can put a tag on this and go driving around!!! IT NEEDS WORK if you wanted to do this.. It's been fitted with rebuild springs and shockies a few years ago, the brakes were overhauled a few years ago, however don't work well now. It does however start and drive. Ideal to move around the property or onto a truck, or into a shipping container only.. There is a few parts missing, like front passenger seat, glove box lid (a later one is provided). Comes with some spare parts in the back, the original springs, shocks and some spare bumpers. We believe this is a Japanese build body, even though most of the others imported into Australia at that time were just a cab chassis and the ute back was manufactured in Australia. We're not sure if the back on this car was made here in Australia or in Japan. This car is part of my own collection of Landcruisers. It's the only one that is not restored, it's the sort of thing that is probably better left unrestored, however, you can do with it as you please! No hard feelings if you want to restore it! It has beautiful patina though, it has 57 years of paint still on it, not sure if the original color was green or blue.. I don't think it's been repainted for a long time, if ever!! This spend nearly 40 years out on a farm in Broken Hill NSW, which is the Australian outback, where it rarely rains... Rust wise this is pretty good, it has a couple of small holes in the cargo floor, but most of these are bullet holes, not rust holes!! Please take a good hard look at the pictures provided as that is exactly how it will come to you. Now, price wise, I have a idea in mind. I know it's valuable due to being sooo rare. What I want for it is either $50k US$, but I'd rather you buy me a new Toyota to replace this one. Not just any Toyota, I've got my heart set on a dual cab TUNDRA 4X4 V8, I'd like a platinum, but a standard will suffice! It has to be new though, or at least 2015 model. Maybe Toyota USA may even want to swap this for one of their demo's?? Or a Toyota dealer in the USA?? Otherwise, you buy the Tundra, claim it on your tax, then 'gift' it to me in exchange of the FJ28. I will however pay for the shipping of the Tundra to Australia, and I will also pay for the shipping of the FJ28 to the USA. Including inland transport. CA would be best, but I don't mind hauling it further away from the port. Check my ebay profile, I'm not a scammer, or a fly-by-nighter, I'm a business operator.
