Vehicle Detail

*** NO RESERVE ABSOLUTE AUCTION *** GOOD LUCK! *** 08 ML 350 w/ Navigation, Back Up Camera, Heated Leather Seats, Harman/Kardon Sound System, Sunroof, Trailer Hitch, and more. 86,881 miles. I have owned this vehicle pretty much since new - since January of 2009 - and drove happily over 70,000 miles in it. My ownership began by taking over a lease from a gentleman who was relocating abroad, then I bought it out. The car has only seen 2 mechanics working on it over its life time: one from an authorized MB dealership, and myself. All major services performed at MB. All paperwork in hand. I did a few smaller jobs, which I am happy to share with you as well. It is a great car, but for me it is a time for a new one. Now the bad, in full disclosure: The car has been recently diagnosed with transmission failure. Known issue, based on my extensive research. I have faulty codes for speed sensor, occasional limp mode driving forward, and a drag in reverse. Possible ways of (relatively inexpensively) fixing it may include repairing the conductor plate - $269 to repair; trying to rebuild it - complete repair kits sell for about $500; or maybe just replacing it for a used one that Jasper certified mechanic will install for 7 hours of labor (option quoted to me in town). Complete used transmissions sell for around $1,000-$1,500. Another option is to buy a brand new remanufactured transmission that comes with up to 3 years warranty and unlimited mileage. You can find them selling for about $2,500. So as you can see, the options are many. For now, I am ready to part with the car "as is", and my discount to you for the transmission work alone is $3,000 (already calculated in my asking opening bid). I think it is more than fair if you know what to do. Otherwise, these cars with similar mileage list for over $20,000 (one example here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/261754570515 - with service past due as pictured, many tears on a driver's seat, cracked alloy wheels, and well visible scratches on the rear bumper - this car does not really look any better than mine!). Other than the transmission issue described above, my car also has a few small tears on a driver's seat, a crack on a windshield, and few scratches here and there - but nothing major above normal wear and tear. One rear end incident this past November that shows in the report resulted in just a scratch on a rear bumper (police report and insurance inspection to verify this in hand). I think my pictures tell the story better than I do. Any questions, please send me a note. I want to sell the car and I want the new owner to be happy. PS. I am in Greenwich, CT, and only in-person inspection and local pick-up is available. But I want to make sure that when you plan to visit, we already have everything sorted out. So please, communicate first. Thanks for your interest. On Feb-06-15 at 12:37:41 PST, seller added the following information: Additional notes: The car has one lien on the title. Once purchased, it will be satisfied at closing - we will meet at my lender's location (few blocks away), and the portion of your payment will go toward's the loan, and I will keep the remaining. I was already presented with the exact payoff by the lender, and the quote is good until 2/10. Thank you.
