I am selling my 2002 BMW 540i M-Sport. This car is a real pleasure to drive and hard to find with the manual 6 speed transmission. It comes very well equipped with the M package, navigation, premium DSP sound system, and cold weather package. The 2002-2003 are the final years of the E39 body style that has made many BMW purists very happy drivers. The car has always been driven in sunny Atlanta, has never been in an accident, and is rust free. The car has been serviced by BMW until the end of the CPO warranty and by my specialized BMW mechanic after that. My mechanic is more than happy to answer any question you might have. Radiator and throttle body were replaced last year. Car Personality – What you need to know before bidding: MechanicsI had the car inspected on February 3, 2015 by my mechanic. Absolutely no issues to report on the mechanics of the car. It has been very well maintained with synthetic oil changes performed every 5k miles (versus the 7.5k miles recommended by BMW). Every part has been replaced when recommended by my garage. I have owned 3 cars in my life and I am in my forties. I take good care of the mechanics of my cars. CosmeticsThere is a scratch on the passenger side door and a couple of small hail dents, all captured in the attached pictures. There is a small hard-to-see crack in the passenger side mirror casing (has been like that for years).There is a white paint mark (from parking car in garage) on the right side of the front bumper.There is a very small dent in the windshield. It is not expanding though.Heat is working great (and car has front heated seats) but the AC is a bit weak.The cup holders are broken (typical for that model).The ash tray can be closed but requires a little pushing. The car is a real pleasure to drive for the car enthusiast. Amazingly smooth manual transmission and great power/torque. The car also gets surprisingly good mileage. I have been getting 25 mpg in average. Pre-purchase inspection by either BMW dealership or specialized mechanic is welcome (at buyer’s expense).
