Every once in a blue moon along comes the chance to own one of the greatest machines in the whole wide world. Now is that time! Up for your consideration is my 1981 FJ40 Toyota Land Cruiser. It is everything you could want in an off road machine or a daily driver. It has the legendary 2f inline 6 cylinder engine with 4 speed manual transmission. Being the fact it is an 81 it also has front disc brakes. It shows just over 135,999 on the odometer. Along with the indestructible drivetrain, this one has the two most highly sought after creature comforts ever sold on a land cruiser. Air conditioning and power steering. Don't let anyone fool you and say you don't need these, they make all the difference in the world. Both work great! It sports a set of new BFG all terrain tires on factory style wheels. The dash pad is not cracked and the seats were reupholstered just a few months ago. This truck was painted last year in the infamous dune beige. Original color on the truck was white but I had it all disassembled and painted the dune beige. Looks so much better. There was some rust in the rear c channel where all cruisers rust. I had this cut out last year and replaced with a brand new one. There was also a little spot on the driver side rear quarter panel. This too was replaced with metal from real steel cruisers. I wanted it fixed right before it was painted. After it was painted the whole under carriage and inside of the tub was lined with a protective coating. This was to preserve the truck for years of future worry free maintenance. Notice I still have all of the original mats in the truck, very hard to find. The jump seats are original and have one little cut on one. I couldn't justify redoing them because of this so I left them. All the roll bar pads are accounted for. The center console also contains a factory heater which is nice for your passengers in the rear. The dome light works. This truck has not been desmogged so it has all of the original factory emissions on it. Most of these cruisers are stripped down to the bare bones in the engine bay, not this one. It runs great. All lights and turn signals work just as they should. As for the bad: the radio does not work, the glove box door has a pretty good dent in it, and the odometer doesn't work. All perhaps an easy fix just little things I never got around to doing. They didn't bother me. Other than that, no major issues. If you are still reading then you know these cruisers are one of the best investments you can make right now. They aren't making any more and they are becoming highly sought after. Being the fact this is a 1981 makes it even more desirable. Do your research and then come look at this one. You won't find a nicer machine for the money. I wouldn't be scared to drive this cruiser to California and back. However due to the fact it is a 34 year old truck it is being sold as is where is. Vehicle is located in Glasgow KY.
