Not saying that you can’t use this as a daily driver, but I don’t think this Jeep’s for you. Although I will say that my work truck has been in the shop for a combined 3 ½ weeks this fall (and is still in the shop on 12/30/14, the day of this posting) and my JK has been my daily driver for those 3 ½ weeks, even making it work to work out of it since it is my slower season. Gets me around wherever I have to go very dependably, and I’m lucky for that. But if you live close to trails and want a badass rig that’s 85% or 90% of the way there and built and damn dependable, and you can drive an hour to the trails for the weekend or throw it on a trailer, and this would be your weekend trail rig, then this is FOR YOU. For instance, on Saturday 9/27 I drove this JK to Rausch Creek off road park from home on Long Island, NY to Pennsylvania AND back home in ONE DAY, a 500 mile round trip and I beat it up. I drove 250 miles there at 3am. Miles and miles of trail riding and hills, I dragged it over rocks, AND did the Frog Hole, a 4’ deep mud pit all in the same day – that video is below. Countless trails, hills, rocks, etc. Then drove it home 250 miles @ 70mph…15mpg for the day. Didn’t sweat a drop (me or the Jeep!).
