Vehicle Detail
For sale is my 1965 Corvair Monza 4 door hardtop. It has a 6 cylinder engine with a Powerglide automatic transmission. Engine runs good and transmission shifts smooth and quiet. The carbs might need adjustment. Body is very solid, especially for a 49 yr old car. Over the years there has been some work done here and there, and in 1996 was painted at Maaco, but it looks good anyway (haha). Paint is holding up surprisingly well (check out pics). They even painted the door jambs, which is unusual for them. Maaco receipt is still in the glovebox. The passenger side front door apparently had been replaced at one time and the paint has cracked on it, like they didn't prep it before painting. THIS DOOR is the only place on the car that has cracking in the paint (again, see pictures). Drivers side rear quarter panel needs some attention along the chrome trim, as well as a few minor places elsewhere (pics). Chrome seems to be in very good shape. Interior is excellent. The headliner, door panels, seat covers and carpet all have been replaced with quality items from Clarks Corvair, which must've cost a small fortune. (Once again, check out the pictures..I can't say that enough, it seems. I've tried to show all the details I possibly can. It's a shame we are not able to post video). Underneath the car is very solid. Doors shut solid and without play. Car has 14" white wall tires with good tread. Brakes seem to be fine. For non-power brakes, they work very well. Hub caps are ugly, as you may have noticed, and are not original. They were on the car when I got it, and will go with the car when I sell it. YAY! This car originally had factory air conditioning, but somewhere along the line it was removed. I have collected most, if not all, of the parts needed to put it back in working order, and all of it goes with the car. I hate to sell her, but I have two other Corvairs (a Rampside and a convertible) and assorted other vehicles, so something HAS to go, so says the wife. Whoever ends up with this car will not be dissapointed. Just make sure that person is you, and BID HIGH AND OFTEN! Thanks! ps.....CAR IS LOCATED IN SOUTH POINT, OHIO 45680 on the very southern tip of Ohio, across the river from Huntington WV
