Please do not bid unless you are a serious buyer! Investigate any shipping costs ahead of time. Zip code is 44420, and the car is free rolling. For sale at NO RESERVE is a Standard 1977 Volkswagen Beetle. The '77 VW would have had a fuel injected engine originally (or "fuel infection" as they are often called) but this one has been converted to run with a stock carburetor for a simpler, more reliable operation. 1600cc engine starts right up. Has a Bosch Made in Germany distributor. No flat spot, idles without stalling. Muffler is good. Could benefit from an overall tune up (new plugs, etc.). Original Viper Green car. One of the coolest colors they ever used in my opinion. Needs a complete brake job. Can't be driven until this is done. Comes with a new master cylinder. Has some of the usual rust. The floorboards are actually not bad, though. The front right board is a little soft for some reason but the others seem nice and solid, even the battery tray. It's mainly the C pillars, front apron, and lower rockers that have a little rot. Good fenders. The front axle, which is usually one of the first things to rot out, looks to be in excellent shape. The wipers, headlights, and taillights work. Turn signals don't seem to; probably something simple. Comes with a key, and the ignition switch works but not the start function it seems, so a push-button starter switch has been installed. A lot of the chrome, lenses, and handles are actually pretty nice. The glass is all good and the weather seals seem to have been replaced fairly recently. Windows roll up and down nice, and vent windows open and close good. Headliner is badly torn in the rear. Some of the carpet is missing. The driver's door panel is in poor shape, the passenger's side is okay. The driver's seat bottom has a couple tears as seen in the photo but the seats are actually pretty decent otherwise. Car is as good a restoration candidate as any, though my thought is that someone should just throw the brakes together and drive it otherwise as is. Would be a fun little car to tool around in. Most of the car's issues are cosmetic, but it shouldn't need much more than the brake job to be a driver. If you're bidding on the car sight-unseen, please understand that it is going to need some TLC overall. There are bound to be things that don't work and will need fixed or replaced. I'm just erring on the side of caution for your sake, as I'm not out to disappoint anyone. It is a complete car though and, again, other than the brake job it shouldn't need much. The previous owner used it as a daily driver for years until fairly recently when the brakes got bad. Clear Ohio title in my name. Mileage is probably not original. I was going to make a winter beater out of this but ran out of time and interest. I got as far as replacing all the fuel hoses, putting on a new fuel filter, and a few other things but then I found a Bus and that became my project instead. A perfect winter project to tinker with. Go ahead and flip it for a tidy profit come Spring if you like! You can set up an appointment to inspect the car if you are local. You can hear it run if you come to see it, but NO BATTERY is included with the sale. Sold completely as is and where is. You must arrange for and pay for any and all transportation for the vehicle. I will make myself available to meet with you or the transportation company, the rest is up to you. I will accept Paypal or cash in person for payment. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time and for any reason. Again, please do not bid unless you are a serious buyer! Happy to answer any questions. Thanks and good luck!
