1973 Cadillac Eldorado Garage Find!Authentic survivor brought back to life!Grab your chance to own an authentic example of the most fabulous, classy and expensive vehicles available in 1973! A time capsule, even the original window sticker (price of $9,907.40) and dealer delivery ticket are still preserved! This fantastically cool automobile was personally owned, garaged and pampered by a Kansas dealership owner since it was delivered into his hands on April 19, 1973. It was used principally for highway trips to the resort areas of Texas and Colorado, and has less than 85,500 original miles. Rather than trading it in, the owner quietly stashed his prize into a private garage in 1991, shortly before unexpectedly passing away. The car remained just as he left it, in the same garage, under a car cover, on floor jacks --for over 21 years! It first emerged from under it’s cover into the light of day (looking fantastic of course!) on the afternoon of May 30th 2012. The original owner’s daughter then had the car hauled to Swisher Automotive, a widely respected “old school Detroit” mechanic shop in Colorado. Mechanically: From the summer of 2012 until June 2013, Ed Swisher (shop owner) personally attended to the project of bringing this vehicle back to life, retaining all original components where practicable-- apart from replacing the original radiator with a new aluminum version. Receipts detailing over $4,500 for work performed are included, and work is listed below as well. The car now roars to life and runs as great as it looks again! It is a great head-turner, a very regal driver and the 8track sound system works great as well. The horn is a special order “trumpet” horn and sounds like a freight train compared to new car. You will never experience a more satisfying honk than when you are sitting behind the wheel of this beauty. Exterior: Garaged throughout its life, the original cabriolet style roof is brilliant white, and in great shape. The exterior paint is completely original special order burgundy and has areas of wear (from excessive polishing!). There are a few door dings, and a scratch on the rear driver side quarter panel. This girl is in great shape for the age of the car. There is very minor cosmetic rust appearing just below the rear seat window in the landau/cabriolet roof, but frame is in fantastic shape. General condition of the car is excellent for a survivor, and it is currently stored in Buena Vista, Colorado. It has yet to be buffed or professionally detailed and is in legitimate survivor condition.Interior: The interior is virtually ageless, and genuinely appears to be in near show room condition, complete with original floor mats! No cracking or visible aging of the dashboard, etc. Clock doesn’t currently work in dash, but all 3 lighters work. Carpets and seats are incredibly clean, appear new! Black carpet and dash, black roof liner, black seat backs with simulated curved wood back, with a black and white checkered “hound’s tooth” pattern cloth seating areas and seat backs, super luxo- plush and detailed--VERY 70s chic! The driver seat has been protected to-date by a dealer-installed fleece cover which has successfully protected the near new condition (see photos). Remember, this is a FRONT WHEEL drive car, -- so no annoying “hump” results in a unusually spacious interior--even for a Cadillac! It’s really like riding your reclining arm chair down the highway, truly an experience from another time we will never know again! Trunk area is also complete and clean. Original spare tire and cover remain. 8 track am/fm stereo, works great, only missing “stereo” radio indicator light cover.
