Vehicle Detail

For sale is a 2003 Mazda Miata Special Edition. The exterior color is the limited special edition Strato Mica Blue. The interior features gray leather seats and black upholstery and gray carpet and mats. The car currently has 103,195 original miles. The car runs and drives great. There are absolutely no issues with the car mechanically. The only issue is the torn convertible top. Overall the exterior of the vehicle is in good shape. It has a few tiny dings here and there and a few slight scratches but nothing that is grossly visible. You would have to be searching for these blemishes to find them. The clear coat is in great shape. The car has been garaged all its life. The history on this car: I purchased this vehicle from a submarine war veteran. Very kind man in his late 60's. He has taken care of the car extremely well. Inside the glovebox there is a maintenance log of all the maintenance that has been completed on the car. This ranges from Oil changes, to tire rotations, to timing belt change, and even light bulb changes. Every entry in this log includes the date, the mileage, and brief info on what was attended to. In addition to this, i have a manila folder filled with hundreds of receipts and dealer invoices that will back up every single entry in the maintenance log. I would post everything up but it would literally take me hours to do this, so i encourage you pass by and check the folder out for yourself. At any rate, this war veteran really did an amazing job at documenting every repair and keeping the car in tip-top shape. When i bought the car from him i asked if there was anything wrong with the car and he stated that everything runs EXCEPT he made one big mistake that he regrets…. That "mistake" was that he went 200 miles over the recommended mileage for a timing belt change. (yes thats how precise this gentleman was) Anyways, in an effort to keep this man's legacy alive, i too logged all maintenance in the log book and kept everything just as he has been doing for the past 10 years or so. This persons tedious record keeping has really inspired me to do this for all my cars and i hope the next owner continues this on. Some of the features that this car includes is the limited edition Mica Blue exterior color (found only on this years edition i believe). Inside you will find a pretty decent interior. The driver seat shows some wear but there aren't any cracks or rips that i observed. The car has an awesome sounding Bose System that comes with AM/FM/ and 6 Disc cd changer. As far as upgrades go, this vehicle is bone stock except for a K&N washable air filter. The previous owner also installed an oil filter relocation kit. Mazda put the oil filter on the side of the engine and during every oil change the oil would seep down and dirty the whole engine. The kit relocated the filter to an area up by the left side of the engine bay. Oil filter changes are now very easy and not messy. The car handles great. The 6-speed manual transmission is very fun and running through the gears is very smooth. Gears DON'T pop out or anything like that. The engine is also in good shape. When i bought the car i changed the oil and the old oil had a golden honey color. (it looked like brand new oil) Everything on the car works. The car comes with two sets of keys and remotes. Windows work flawlessly. Radio antenna also works flawlessly. The tires are in ok shape. I don't have a gauge but i would say that come summer time, they could use replacement. I also have 4 Winter tires mounted on OEM mazda rims. They are in good shape. All tires hold air. There are no plugs or patches. The convertible top opens and closes nicely. Drain plugs are clean and clear. The top does have a rip in it. I never got around to changing the top. I saw a cloth top on with glass rear mirror, in gray color, for $500 on ebay. The current top is the original top so it is normal to be in the shape it is now. I heard you could sew up the hole and they have fabric cement that would seal the seam. If i have time this week i might just do that so check back here for updates on that. I have been using the car during the summer with the top down 99% of the time so i didn't see the need to replace the top just yet. I was planning on doing it over the winter time but i can't find the time to do it lately. In the pictures you will see what is included with the sale. From the Special Edition Gift set there is the baseball cap and the backpack with lunch box. Also i have the touch up paint that came with the set (never been used). In addition, there is a stadium blanket (also special edition). On top of all this i have two rear trunk baggage bags with mat. Basically this is for trips where you need extra room. You place the mat on the rear trunk (to prevent scratches) and you attached two water and weatherproof baggages. I used these once during the summer when we went on a camping trip into the catskill mountains. I was able to fit a lot of stuff into the two bags and driving on the curvy mountain roads with the top down was hands down the most memorable time i had in this car. Also included is the original shift knob, tow hooks, wheel nuts, center wheel caps for the winter wheels. I will also throw in a car cover. I have the car covered in the garage all the time. Probably the biggest pain in my life is going to be selling this vehicle, however, i have to get rid of the toys because my wife is getting too jealous and thinks i like the Miata more than i like her (i love the miata). Anyways i think i covered everything. If you have any questions feel free to shoot me an email. Car is located in Wallington, NJ. Let me know if you want to come by and see it. I could take you for a test drive in it. I work evenings so mornings and afternoons are good. Weekends I'm usually off. So don't be shy. This is truly an amazing car. Never had any problems. It has been taken care of better than some children and you will truly be as happy as i am to own this car. Everywhere i went i had thumbs up and great compliments. I remember once i took a ride with my wife to Times Square. We were at a stoplight with the top down. A UPS driver was crossing the street and as soon as he saw the car he stopped, put his hand truck down in the middle of the crosswalk. He came up to us walked around the car and said "wow now thats a beautiful car I need to get me one of these." I thought it was cool because he stopped traffic in the middle of the crosswalk just to compliment on the car. Anyways happy bidding!!!
