Vehicle Detail
Supercharged 2005 Jaguar XJR, this car was in exceptional condition before being involved in an accident. It is repairable with rear end damage or use it for parts, car has a low 115K miles and will be sold as is with a clear title. Airbags were not deployed so there is no interior damage to the vehicle! Low profile tires are almost new with less than 10,000 miles on them, recent brakes all the way around, front air suspension air shocks replaced about eight months ago which were over $1,000 for the parts. After the accident the car stalled and would not start so it needed to be towed, I have investigated the reason and I found the fuse box mounted in the trunk was damaged however the wiring was amazingly untouched so I was able to reconnect the terminals to the damaged fuse box and once I did that the car started and ran fine. The fuse box is an inexpensive part and all of the connections will simply plug back into it. There are also pneumatic lines and an air chamber in the trunk for the cars suspension system, these items were untouched in the accident and the suspension system is working perfectly. I do not claim to know anything about collision repair however it appears that the primary damage is to the trunk floor pan, rear bumper assembly & brackets. This has caused damage to the rear quarters pulling them out of alignment and therefore the trunk lid is out of alignment and will not close. The two rear exhaust pipes were also slightly bent from the impact as shown in the photos which has caused both mufflers to move forward and out of their respective hangers. To be clear as shown in the photos the driver’s side rear frame and/or bumper extension bracket shows damage which may need to be pulled/repaired prior to installing a new rear bumper assembly which I found readily available and inexpensive on www.car-part.com The rear impact pushed me into another vehicle however the damage to the front was very minor and did not affect the operation of the vehicle however the hood would not open after the accident. I found that the center latch pin was bent and out of line and the front grille plastics were also out of place. I have straightened the latch pin and now the hood does open and close and the grille plastics simply snapped back into place. There is damage to the driver’s side headlight lens and some scuff marks on the front bumper as shown in the photos. I drove the car at city and highway speeds in its current condition and the car runs and drives just fine and could probably be driven to its new home however the airbag light displays a code 17 three times and then stays on which I suspect may be due to the driver’s seat whiplash protection mechanism needing to be reset. The cars owner’s manual states that after a rear end collision the whiplash protection mechanism will not work again and must be serviced??? This Jaguar XJR is equipped with a 4.2L Supercharged V8, 6-speed automatic transmission, black exterior with cream leather interior. This car comes loaded with power sunroof, GPS navigation, Alpine stereo system with CD changer, heated seats, 19′′ alloy wheels, 16-way power seats, adaptive cruise control, rear parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, wood & leather trim, tilt & telescopic wheel with audio & cruise controls, heated steering wheel, auto-dim rearview mirror, memorized settings for 3 drivers, power rear sunshade, Xenon headlights, one-touch power windows, stability & traction control, self-leveling headlights, fog lights, alarm, 4-wheel ABS, front & rear head airbags, dual front & rear aide- mounted airbags. I purchased this car last year out in Arizona and drove it home to Rhode Island therefore it has only seen one New England winter and I believe I am the third owner. The car is going to be sold as is to the highest bidder, a deposit of $500 will be due via PayPal at the close of the auction with the remainder being due within seven business days in cash, cashier's check or wire transfer. The car may be picked up in North Smithfield, RI once the payment has cleared.
