Hello and welcome to my auction, you are bidding on a 1981 vw rabbit diesel pickup, with very low miles,I had to relist thanks to a non paying bidder I picked up this one a couple of years ago and have been restoring it to its original glory ever since, I found it sitting in the Nevada desert, the hot condition had faded out the paint and interior, the original owner a Vietnam vet did not want to sell it but I convinced him to sell it to me along with a 81 vw Dasher and a 76 Rabbit, I fell in love with the truck because it was pretty straight and with zero rust, I got it home and I tore it apart, had the engine compartment hot pressure washed and painted to the original silver, the rack/pinion was torn apart and rebuilt complete with new oem boots and tie rods, the 5-speed transmission was hot tanked /painted and new seals installed, the front struts were torn apart sand blasted/painted and new kyb strut inserts ,new upper strut bearing, new dust covers etc, the front wheel bearings were torn apart sand blasted and new bearings installed, the front rotors were sent to a machine shop along with the rear drums to get turned and new brakes front/rear were installed, new wheel bearings in the rear too, next the original motor was beyond rebuilding,by luck I found a NOS Cofab short block with brand new pistons, had a 1.6 Factory Brazilian head rebuilt , New Sachs clutch/ pressure plate, all new motor mounts, new continental timing belt, all new seals, all new coolant hoses, new hoodlatch/cable ,new fuel filter, new fuel lines, new belts, rebuilt injector pump, new glo plugs, rebuilt injectors,new coolant bottle ,new windage tray, new oil splash cover, new coolant temp sender, new radiator, new shifter bushings/ shifter rods, new thermostat, new tailgate bushings, new tailgate decals, The whole interior was completely redone using sound deadening material, The dash and the door cards are flawless, installed dual horns from a 93 vw Passat, GTI steering wheel, Fender Flares, All 4 NEW TIRES on very desirable Mark 1 Scirocco mag wheels, New Battery, New Windshield rubber Gasket ,Heavy duty helper springs on the back etc etc too much to list I have been driving the truck daily long distance since last week starts right up, and it is a sweet solid ride ,No un-necessary clunks, thuds or rattles, it is very quite for a diesel, has lots of power and shifts thru all 5 gears smoothly, all the gauges work fine including the odometer, the only bad dings are on the hood, The bed is pretty straight was sprayed with bedliner material, the only thing this baby needs is the stereo installed which is included with the truck, Pioneer CD player, Pioneer CD changer and a power AMP, I have too much time and money invested in this baby , I wouldn't hesitate to jump in it and drive it any where, VERY DEPENDABLE , and most of all it needs a loving driver, The truck is a non AC model if you have further questions please feel free to email me, the truck has a clear NEVADA title, and by the way those are the actuall miles on the truck, I have tried to describe the truck as honestly as I can but please do remember its still close to 34 years old, does not come with the front plate, thanks for looking and happy bidding
