Vehicle Detail
I reluctantly and putting my nice old '76 Cadillac up for sale. She is a genuine "Z" code commercial chassis vehicle. Her coach work is by Sayers and Scoville. She's a Centennial Edition, as 1976 was the 100th anniversary of S&S. I bought her from the second owner. There was something stored on top of her, before I got her, and whatever it was leaked and destroyed the vinyl top and the paint. The rust you see on the roof is all surface rust. There is a small amount of perforation on the leading edge of the hood, but that hood is the same as any other full sized RWD Cadillac for that year, and easily replaceable. Her fenders, rockers, floors and frame are in excellent, solid condition with a scant amount of minute surface rust and no more. She is 8.2 Liter powered, with a four barrel Rochester Quadrajet carburetor, exactly as she came from the factory. Turbohydramatic 400 series transmission and an ENORMOUS rear axle. Ratio is 3.15:1 She is a "Hydroboost" car meaning it does not have a conventional power brake booster and variable ratio power steering of a standard Cadillac, but rather a huge hydraulic pump that runs the fixed ratio power steering and the brakes, like a large truck would have. She came from the factory this way to handle the tremendous weight - over 7,000 lbs. She is large, 21 feet long. Heavy, 7,000 lbs. If space or parking is an issue, I suggest you look at something else. Everything about her build is heavy duty. The brakes, wheels, tires, bearings, driveshaft, rear axle, radiator, alternator, everything. She has new Extra Load (XL) tires (you can't use regular tires because of the weight), with less than 200 miles on them. Front end parts are new as is new brake linings. Her Quadrajet carburetor has been rebuilt, and she has all new hoses for the Hydroboost system. Her mechanical work has been completed. She starts. runs, and drives beautifully. She needs paint, cleaning, and trim work to be show ready. Her interior trim is S&S Centennial Edition fabric. The "Angel of Memory" is on the rear door and casket compartment sides and is illuminated by a switch. She has a clear title. Her instrument panel and door panels are in excellent condition. She needs a climate control switch to have her Climate Control working and an A/C recharge. Both are easy fixes. She was a southern car all her life, til I bought her. I'd like to see her go to a good home. If you have questions, please ask.
