Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1971 Adventurewagen, It is a two owner bus with 82,000 original miles. It is a very dry bus and is rust-free. Interior is complete with original upholstery. The refrigerator has been replaced with a vintage wood grain Coleman Cooler, but everything is there if you want to install an original unit. My primary use for this bus is camping and Club events. Engine and Transmission has been rebuilt. Here are some of the things I have done to the bus. Mechanical 1776cc. Professionally rebuilt, heads cc'ed , runs excellent .( approximately 2,000 miles on motor ) Case full flowed with oil filter. Stock cam Weber DCNF 40 carburetor ( Berg 40 ) Very rare with vintage Bug Pac intake manifold. Alternator conversion. New battery, and cables. Type 4 Oil cooler with doghouse tin modification. Runs very cool even in Arizona Summer VW Single tip GT exhaust system with ceramic coating. Tucks nicely under bumper and will never rust. New Brake booster, master cylinder, front calipers, front rotors, pads. New 185/R14 Tires ( 5 ) 8 ply rating ( correct tires for a VW Camper ) Interior Stock Adventurewagen Interior, with lots of storage. 2 burner propane stove Sink with pressure water system Folding table and cabinets. Dual propane tanks. Drive away tent ( not Westy tent, but made in the 1970’s specifically for a VW bus ) excellent shape. This bus runs great. The engine gets up to freeway speed quickly, and gets about 24 mpg at 60-65 mph. I built this bus to be driven. I have had more than a few restored busses and I ended up not driving them because they were so nice. I’ve took it camping to some very remote places, even happened upon a 4 x 4 club event a couple of weeks ago. This bus is ready for a road trip, fly down and drive it home.
