Vehicle Detail
This is a no reserve auction for a 1971 Camaro SS350 This car is a real barn find, was in a storage unit for 20 plus years. This would make a super project car as a Dry Climate find, with minimal rust. The car runs and drives, but it is a project that needs finishing. I bought the car with the intention of finishing it, but budget, time, and health prevents me from completing it. This is what I've done so far: New Battery and cable ends The distributor was bad so I put in a new electronic distributor, Coil Combo in the Distributor I had a chance to upgrade the rear end (stock was an open 3.08) so I put it a rebuilt rearend with 3.73 gears and a posi. I put plugs and tune -up parts including wires, oil change with filter, New gas cap and radiator Cap all done when I changed the distributor.I had to put a new window hardware in the drivers side, and purchased a spare for the passenger side that comes with the car. Good things:The trunk is solid, as well as the floor pans and the door seals. The engine runs well, sounds solid and does not smoke.Transmission feels solid.Speedometer works.Power steering, alternator, power breaks all work well. I put new tires on the front wheels, the wheels are off a later model Camaro. It is a column shift. It has a 350 with a 4-barrel carb, I believe it is the factory engine, there is a photo on the number on the block near the passenger side head. What it needs:The interior is original, sun-beat and needs replaced. The paint is bad, and it has rust in areas as shown in the photos. The trunk lock is broken out.It has headers and old duels that are marginal at best.Carb needs rebuilt.Dash is warped from sun, and headliner is coming down. The condition of the car is best seen in the photos. Needs to be finish, but is no rust bucket and makes a great starting point for a restoration car. I think it was always a New Mexico car. I have a clear NM title Located in Los Alamos, New Mexico 100 miles North of Albuquerque. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer to arrange and pay for. $1000 deposit via PayPal, balance by check which must clear before pick-up. Sold as is.
