I have a rust free clean original 1964 Ford fairlane in excellent condition. The engine was recently rebuilt from the block on up along with new exhaust pipes and mufflers. This has the stock 289 V8 engine 4 barrel carb and manifold pushing 271Hp according to the original owner who rebuilt the engine. ( I have proof of the rebuilt with a reciept) The car is very very clean with no rust no bondo a solid car with solid floor boards and trunk and rear quarters. The engine is very powerful with with proof of the extensive rebuilt with reciepts. The C/4 tranny doesn't slop or leak the engine doesn't smoke or leak oil very very strong since the rebuilt. The seat covers have no rips or tears in the uhpolstery, the door panels are not warped or speaker holes cut into them. The carpet isn't torn or ripped up. everything is in top original condition due to the low mileage of this car. The bucket seats and console are in excellent condition , all the electrical works . all the emblems are there nothing is missing or bent up. the bumpers and grill is still shiny nothing missing or dented. If your looking for a clean 1964 fairlane with sports coupe trim then this is it. This is probably the most solid rust free fairlane you will ever see. I got this car from the original owner who adored it but fell on hard times and needed money. I bought this car right so I'm passing on the savings to anyone who buys it. The downsized Fairlane was 11.7" shorter than regular Fords, but 16.5" longer than the Falcon. A Ford six or new 221-cid OHV V8 powered the new cars. The mid-year Fairlane 500 (pillared) Sport Coupe came with buckets and console. A 260-cid V8 and four-speed manual transmission were optional. For 1963, the nicely restyled Fairlane Sport Coupe became a true hardtop. New Fairlane wagons included a faux-wood paneled Squire. Late in 1963, Ford introduced its hot 271-hp 289 V8 in Fairlane. Substantially upgraded styling kept 1964 Fairlanes competitive with Chevy's new Chevelle—and a Ford 427-cid V8 made that year's limited run of Fairlane-based Thunderbolt drag cars more than competitive. A new Fairlane look appeared for 1965, as the car shared heavily sculpted sheetmetal with that year's Mercury Comet. Rectangular tail lamps replaced formerly round units. The pleasingly styled 1962-65 Fairlane 500s are scarce, but generally quite affordable today—Thunderbolts excluded! An authentic Hi-Po V8/4-speed Fairlane can be a super Ford bargain.
