Vehicle Detail
1965 Chevrolet Impala Convertible. 283 V8, 195HP version. Powerglide automatic transmission. This car has been in my family since it was purchased new in 1965. Was my daily driver back in the 90's, but unfortunately it's been neglected for the past 15 years. My loss is your gain. I have not attempted to start the car for about 8 years. Engine turns, not frozen. You can see the engine bay photos are pretty clean for a project car. You can see by the photos that the car is straight and mostly complete. Never been in an accident. Yes there is surface rust underneath as you can see, but nothing major. Along the bottom of the quarters underneath where the bottom trim mouldings were. No rust-through on floorpans/trunk/etc. The Impala restoration could go two ways. Since the car has a solid foundation and body you could do a "relatively" inexpensive rehab with updates to suspension/wheels/brakes, new seat covers/carpeting/interior trim and convertible top, and a little bodywork and a nice new paint job. You'd have a nice driver worth twice what you spent. Or you have a solid foundation and all the parts for the full restoration. How many project cars are out there with no engine or transmission or seats and look how much they sell for and you'd still have to buy all that new. With this Impala, it's all there, just needs some love and attention. Mid 1960's Chevrolet convertibles are certainly not getting any less expensive. If you're going to restore a car, why not a convertible? You know they're way more valuable than hardtops. Also included is the original Protect-O-Plate. The Impala is located North of Pittsburgh, PA. It will also be on sale locally as well as Hemming, etc. So I reserve the right to end the auction early if the reserve has not been met. There's a ton of photos uploaded. The winner of the auction is NOT winning the right to come up and try to renogiate. This is a great opportunity for you to own a solid, restorable, desirable Chevy Impala. Winning bid will require a $500 deposit immediately after the close of the auction. I have 100% feedback and am trying to be completely up-front with what you're getting. Please review all the photos carefully. Please email me with other questions.
