1979 Jeep CJ5 304 V8 manual 3 speed. Needs some some TLC or drive as is. Good project, off road or even hunting vehicle. Actual miles. Runs and drives good, sounds great. Starts right up. 4x4 works good. Steering wonders a little, may need a new steering box? Does drip a little oil after driving, not much. Solid frame and body. Fenders look new. Old repaint, flaking and peeling (see photos), original color was Olympic white. I ran a magnet around the body and it sticks everywhere. Looks like front floors had been replaced, rear is original and has a hole in floor (not a rust hole) about the size of a quarter to get access to fuel pump, not sure? No rot on this Jeep, some surface rust near windshield and cowl meet and back upper corner behind passenger side light. Otherwise solid. Headlights, running lights, side lights and signals all in good working order. Looks like original wagon wheel rims, I think the rims have spacers thats why the tires are sticking out a little. Nice black Besttop soft top and doors (2 years old) and bikini top with matching doors (brown). Has a matching fold/roll rear seat but is not installed, need brackets. I have a nice dash that could go along with it and a matching center console. It does have a spare tire carrier, but one of the tire bolts are broke. Also have new mirrors and a few other small parts. Factory optional tilt, tach and clock. Disc front brakes.Fuel, temp, oil, amp gauges and heat blower are not working. I have included some really large photos to look over and study.I don't know any of the history but will try and answer all question so please ask!I want the buyer to be happy with no surprises. On Oct-18-14 at 05:10:07 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had couple questions about the embossed jeep type on the side. I'm guessing the entire side panels have been replaced. And where there is surface rust on the upper drivers cowl is where the panels meet.
