Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 1929 Steel Chevy AC International 2 door sedan/coach project. Clear title and two 1929 NY license plates with it. Body solid, missing a hubcap and driver side mirror. A 6v system car with no modifications to the car, looks to be 100% original. Still has the cloth covered wiring. It has the Stovebolt 6 cylinder, runs but needs carb gasket and o ring in carb to give it enough gas to drive it, also gas tank has a small leak. It can idle and drive in first gear and brakes work, clutch works. It has sat it garage for as many years as Dad owned, he drove it minimally and kept garaged when not in use. Last time driven to car show was 2009. This is one of the too many projects to handle that we are parting with. Would be great to find a new good home where can be taken care of properly and restored. Has a new battery, coil, distributor cap, rotor, plugs, points. Does have some surface rust, but a solid car. Interior needs to be redone, mice ate at the seats, and needs some wood repair around doors. May call for questions, Dave (607)857-5243 Coupe, Sedan, Coach? I had an inquiry over whether this should be considered a sedan vs coupe and it seems that the difference is not clear online and the title does not specify. Even though it seems that usually 2-door would be considered coupe and 4-door a sedan, it can also be a matter of space that determines whether it's a coupe or sedan and in this case this is a 2-door with a back seat so it has characteristics of each. Also found that particular style may be referred to as Coach. Am interested if anyone else would share view regarding (may email or call). Thanks! Wanted to share some input from another viewer (thanks!) Dave, you are correct; the car is called a Coach. The 1929 Chevy AC came in 10 different body styles, including a 2-door sedan. The AC International was called a Coach because the cabin was completely closed in with steel and glass. The AC series was actually the number one selling car of 1929 with 850,000 units sold. The reason for the high sales was because Chevy only charged $10 to upgrade from the standard 4 cylinder to the optional 6 cylinder Stovebolt engine and the overall price was still close to a $100 cheaper than the competitions cheapest 6 cylinder.
