Vehicle Detail
1958 Chevy Apache 3200 (2) Owner Ranch Truck "Tartan Turquoise Code" with Original 235ci & Manual (3) Speed Column Shift--California Survivor Submitted for your consideration this week is a sweet original (2) owner 1958 Chevy 3200 Apache 1/2 ton LWB ranch truck. Added 100+ detailed high resolution pictures.Last time offered at this no reserve price. In my opinion 1950's Chevy trucks are better than money in the bank these days. We found this 56 year old California survivor tucked in a single car barn/garage at an estate sale approximately three (3) years ago. Was dad's pride & joy according to seller. Truck last ran back in 2007 according to the California registration sticker. Has some honest wear/character/patina as you can see. I replaced starter, new NAPA battery, NAPA points & rotor, spark plugs, spark plug wires, NAPA fuel filter, oil change, & NAPA oil filter, repacked/replaced/greased wheel bearings, then I cleaned out both the gas tank & fuel system twice for good measure. Which was about $700.00 worth of parts & labor alone. Filled tank with (5) gallons of premium fuel. She fired up in just (2) short cranks. Current California title/pinkslip on DMV NON OP which means I own clear title with NO added fees for the lucky buyer/winning bidder. Features: Original 235ci inline six cylinder motor which still runs strong when gas is poured directly into carburetor because it's not been driven for about (9) months until just recently. I would also recommend a valve job with hardened guides/seats for today's unleaded fuels as original valve guides/seats. Three (3) on the tree/column shift manual transmission. Working clutch has plenty of pressure on the pedal. The column shift (3) speed transmission shifts into & out of both forward & reverse effortlessly as it should. Original working floor starter (turn the key & press the floor pedal). Working brakes that hold pressure. Emergency brake also holds pressure & works VG. Has some redneck gun racks (2) from it's previous use at the alfalfa ranch for your favorite rifles/shot guns. It looks to be an older factory single repaint to 1950's Chevy code "tartan turquoise" as engine bay/firewall has some yellow based paint/primer pictured. Seller "original owner's daughter" said factory paint was done by the dealer way back then & should be the original code to this particular truck. I used some paint restoration fluid on her recently so she is all shined/buffed for her pictures. Body is pretty darn straight for it's age with NO significant repairs or alterations. Body panels are ALL aligned correctly. In other words NO obvious accidents. Rocker panels, bottom of doors, & floor pans are 100% original to this truck. All are California desert dry, rust free, & equally rock solid pictured. Check underneath the floor mats pictured like new. Front bumper alignment to bumper valance is unusually straight & spot on. OG paint surface shows some obvious issues ie. paint chips, fading, scuffs, & scratches associated with honest use. Factory long bed sheet metal/fenders/tailgate are equally straight up & down/side to side pictured with NO significant dents, dings, or damage & in my opinion as good as they come for any truck of this vintage. Original wood is VG for it's age & retains most of it's factory black stain on the white wood bed this is because this truck had a camper shell which protected it from the elements. All the hood hinges, & door hinges were lubricated with triflow. Doors all open & shut correctly. Alignment on doors VG. Alignment on hood is also VG. Hood opens & shuts easily & correctly. Interior of cab is clean as a whistle both inside & out featuring it's original Chevy factory made rubberized one piece floor mat. Uncut dash with a Chevy bowtie that frames up interior details nicely. Lastly has it's original California DMV issued Folsom prison made black & gold license plates front & back. The distractions include the following: Small patch of unfinished skim coat on the surface of driver's door. Passenger cab bottom corner has the only significant rust spot on the entire truck pictured which is rare indeed. Drivers side has some rust bubbling; However, it has not gone thru sheet metal. One crack on windshield & crack on passenger window. With a proper detail/wax she should shine up like a brand new penny. You will be quite hard pressed to find another 58 Apache as original, clean, & well preserved for this low reserve. BTW it sure gets head turns, hoots, & plenty of attention when we both drive to town. Please note: This vehicle is represented to the best of my ability as a 56 year old original/unaltered truck that will need the usual TLC. So bid with confidence & with these facts in mind.
