Vehicle Detail

For sale is a true barn find, a survivor of a much sought after old skool Mercedes-Benz diesel - The key thing about this car, is that it is a rare rust free car. The fenders, doors, frame rails, trunk - all basically rust free. The only rust is surface around the top of both front and rear windshields. This car is a base model - crank windows, manual seat adjustments and the much desired 4 speed floor shit transmission! The car is from Oregon where it was parked in a barn, untouched for 6 or 7 years, then brought to NC earlier last year. It then sat parked again in a barn for the last 14 months. My uncle is selling his property, and I am losing my over flow parking area so the car must go. A couple of weeks ago, I put the battery in it, checked the fluids and it cranked right up. I drove it local for a couple days, then I did a 92 mile round trip drive to Cars & Coffee | Euro-Classica where it attracted a lot of attention. The car is unusual in that it has velour interior - The U.S market models had MB-Tex, and the cloth velour was reserved for the Euro market. I'm checking to determine if this car was an original Euro delivery car, and will update the ad once I know. As to it's history -- Not a lot is known, other than what I was told by the folks I purchased it from...And that being, the car belonging to the gentleman's father-in-law for many years and then as he aged, it was parked and not driven. I did find a little spiral notebook in the glove box that list some maintenance items, which included an engine rebuild within the last 30 - 40,000 miles. Most entries are from the 90's, early 2000's. There is a page that notes a California trip in 1995 - 2,689 miles roundtrip. This is a fun car that only needs a few things to make it top notch - It will need some brake work, as the calipers a stiff from being parked so long. Both front and rear windshield gasket/seals are dried out and will need replacement. The trunk seal is dried out as well. The heater exchange valve mounted on the fire wall is seeping some anti-freeze, which is normal for this model and design. I have on order from my local MB dealer the O-rings needed to rebuild the valve assembly - I am told it's an easy fix. The injector return lines are dried out and leaking, but will be replaced if I can find the time in the next couple of day. Heater motor blows fine. Fuel gage is sporadic, the engine temp gage is not working and I've not looked into why. Sadly, the car needs to go - I am having to steam line my fleet, and this is one that is being voted out.....I am a motivated seller that wants the car to move quickly, but please don't insult me, or assume that because I am in the South, you can insult or treat me like an idiot --- just saying! #mercedes benz diesel w123 200 220 300 W115
