Up for SALE IS MY 1983 Honda VT500FT "Ascot" V-Twin Sport Bike. This was based on the Shadow, but has a standard riding position, and Mid-Controls, and sport bike bodywork on the seat. It's very fast for a 500. Harley just came out with a bike of nearly identical concept/style/engine (Harley Street 500) . Honda thought of it 30 years sooner! It's powered by a high winding Over Head Cam Liquid Cooled V-Twin, backed by a 6 Speed overdive trans. It's shaft drive, which is almost maintenence free (no chain to oil or tighten) All lights, levers and guages work, battery is 1 1/2 years old. Has fuel Guage, Overdrive light and Tach and Speedo. Also has air adjust forks and nice Mag wheels. Super Bright Halogen Head Light. Bike ran good last season, but sat all winter due to being plowed in, could not even get it out of the garage to run it, let alone ride. Carbs will need to be cleaned, not statrting , but turns over. May need to be jumped to start, plan on trailer or pick up truck. Paint is excellent and chrome is good. I have purchased a new bike (Rebel) and this one needs a new home, preferably a mechanic who can maintain it and really get alot of use out of it. The bike is in Peabody MA. Local Pick up only.
