Vehicle Detail

Solid condition 3 car, and easily moved to condition 2 with minor work. Rare car. Approx 1400 made, perhaps 100 left. Far fewer in triple black with Factory AC. Runs strong, turns heads. All systems work, except for disconnected factory A/C, parts saved. Original Radio. Optioned with the automatic on the floor - not the console, power windows, A/C, SS Wheels. Original interior in excellent condition. Triple Black. This car was owned by a GM employee who passed away several years ago after a long illness. It spent many years with infrequent use until it was recently overhauled with a brake job, some new weather stripping, and a tune up. Runs strong, sounds great. Defects: Grill trim has a crack and 2 dents, there is a ding in the windshield, parking brake needs new handle, new pillar window strip required, spider cracks in paint near functional air intake. The only upgraded component is electronic ignition - the original distributor has been saved. Rest of Car is wholly original. Tires are great, Interior is great. Only 65,400 mi. Priced to sell fast. I have sold vehicles and boats on ebay with 100% feedback. No games. Winning bidder to deposit $500.00 via paypal within 24 hours of winning and balance due by paypal within 3 days after winning. This is being sold by an Attorney for the family. As is, Transferable, unencumbered registration, no nonsense. Ask any questions you wish. On Sep-21-14 at 07:20:37 PDT, seller added the following information: Not pictured is the padded black boot that covers the convertible top, which is included with the car, along with a car cover, and the original phone book sized operations and mechanics manual provided by General Motors. (Owner was a GM employee). On Sep-21-14 at 07:51:37 PDT, seller added the following information: Please Note: Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early. Only Buy It Now Price guarantees win. Please reference Hagerty Price Guide report: Condition 3 valued at $29,000, Condition 2 at $46,000. This does not account for low mileage or desirable triple black color. The buy it now price is truly fair and under value since a bit of trim makes this a Condition 2 car. Price Guide Report can be found by typing "hagerty price guide buick gs 400 1969 convertible" into google, clicking the top link and then selecting the convertible. ebay software doesnt allow for a direct hyperlink to the guide. Good luck bidding. On Sep-21-14 at 17:03:54 PDT, seller added the following information: Received this Question: Hello - Does the Skylark GS have its original numbers matching engine, transmission, and rear end? Also, you said it needed a new parking brake handle??? did you mean parking brake pedal? Does any additional paperwork come with the car, i.e. build sheet, ownership records, etc.. Thanks. - coldplay05 Dear coldplay05, I was told by the deceased prior owner's family that everything in the car is original except the distributor (which is saved - for some reason the deceased owner wanted to upgrade to an electronic ignition). I have not personally verified the numbers on the components but I have no reason to believe they wouldn't match, particularly with 65,400 original miles. There is a large book of information on the car that looks like a phone book and has specifications - far more than a manual, and it appears to date back to the build of the car. It may have only been available to GM Employees of which he was. No re: parking brake pedal. I meant what I said - the parking brake handle (plastic) is broken but it is still usable and working. The parking brake pedal is fine. Everything works from the radio to the wipers to the power windows to the original radio. I should note that the rear power windows move slowly. - integrity555On Sep-22-14 at 14:50:44 PDT, seller added the following information: I added a picture (the last) that depicts the leather boot which covers the convertible top. On Sep-22-14 at 14:57:25 PDT, seller added the following information: Yes, the top works perfectly. Tires have minimal use and deep tread. Passed NY Inspection last month. Ready to drive anywhere. On Sep-24-14 at 17:47:08 PDT, seller added the following information: To answer prior question. I checked with immediate prior owner. He is certain the engine, tranny, and rear end are original. Only the distributor is not original (and I have the original distributor if you want it) I did not check the numbers personally and do not know where to find them. Everything I know leads me to believe I am being dealt with honestly on this issue. On Sep-26-14 at 12:29:55 PDT, seller added the following information: I added a photo of the number plate under the hood, illustrating that this is an original black car. Wire transfer is preferred lieu of paypal and I will pay the costs of same.
