Vehicle Detail
Old 70's and 80's 2 door Broncos and Blazers have become extremely rare recently, since many of them got into the wrong hands a decade or so and are now history. I've wanted to get one for myself for some time. I had a friend who moved (with the Bronco) from CA back to Montana to get his Doctor's Degree, and took the Bronco back with him. After he graduated, the brought it back to CA and then bought a new Jeep Wrangler. The Bronco sat, barely used. I finally talked him out of it about six months ago. I really, really like the car. About 10 years, a previous owner did a pretty major restoration on the truck, so the rubber and chrome trim and upholstery and paint are all very fresh, requiring very little of anything to use the car as a classy "daily driver". The motor (5.0 302 Ram Inducted Electronically Fuel Injected) was replaced by a 92 Mustang GT High Performance 5.0 with headers and custom exhaust, while the car was in Montana. It runs and sounds magnificent. The transmission was rebuilt while he was there, and shifts strong with lovely pink fluid. The air conditioning was rebuilt about 6 years ago, and blows ICE cold. Heater, power windows, power door locks, power tailgate window, horn, etc all work properly. The old leather wrapped steering wheels on Ford trucks, tended to self destruct. This steering wheel is near mint, with no wear or cracking. The car is amazingly fresh. There are some dash lights out and the radio was stolen, some years ago. The CD changer in the console may or may not work. The car is VERY clean and shiny, the body is mostly VERY straight. (6"x'8" basketball dent in L/R Quarter panel, which might well pop out.) Shiny paint. A bit of surface rust at the bottom edge of the tailgate (see pics) but nowhere else at all. Tires have plenty of tread, brakes seem fine, engine has some valve clatter and a tiny bit of piston slap, but works fine, pulls and sounds strong, and runs down the highway just fine. This is a presentable and drivable car that you can use regularly, or save as a classic toy, for special occasions. I drove it from Concord, CA to Central CA where I live, and have used it often since. No issues, 70 MPH, SWEET engine and exhaust sounds, ice cold AC, comfortable captains chairs, Cruise Control... it was a great trip! I LOVE this Bronco, but I had no idea that the replacement engine in the car came with aftermarket exhaust headers. They work (and sound) fabulous, but they're not certified by the CA Air Resources Board, so it cannot qualify for a smog certificate, no matter how well it runs and how clean the exhaust is. The exhaust manifolds must be switched back to stock. Every junk engine has manifolds you can remove and install on this car, but I wanted a car ready to drive. This car needs to either go to another state, or have the manifolds swapped out. You can drive it anywhere, just as it is. The current Montana plates and registration are "forever", and have no expiration date. It comes with a clear Montana title and all documents necessary for a transfer except a CA smog certificate. This car is FAR nicer the average 80's American car, and truly collectable. All the off road suspension work, the dual front shock absorbers, the high performance shift kit, are already done. The "old school" super wide 15" wheels with huge off road baloon tires are in good shape, and the spare is virtually new. The car needs rear carpet (looks like a bleach spill) but the rest of the interior is quite nice, clean, and impressive. It turns heads and people come over to ask about it and compliment you on it. If you're a young man or lady, this car will definitely attract the opposite sex! It will go anywhere, and I mean ANYwhere! If this is your dream, you need this car. Fly in, drive home. Good luck bidding! This is a "no reserve" auction. That means high bidder wins the car. You are bidding to actually buy the car. I reserve the right to end this auction early. Questions? Call Al at 559-892-1941 any time. Check my feedback. Set your maximum bid, and GO FOR IT!! You will love this car.
