Beautiful 1978 Ford F250 Supercab! This truck was ordered from the factory with very minimal trim, no intermittent wipers, one single chrome strip down the side, no cargo light and no carpet. What it did come with was AC, tilt wheel, Dana 60 axles front and rear and a 3:50 gears. The 3:50 gears allow this truck to fly down the highway at 75 plus mph all day without over wrapping the motor. Even with the highish gear ratio the big 460 has plenty of power and low end torque to power off the line with no problem (good enough that if you're not careful you'll be needing new rear tires). The truck, for the most part is in original form other then the 460, lift, tires and paint. The original 400M ran pretty well but was getting a little tired, I opted to build a mild 460 (something with enough power to pull my trailers but nothing radical). The 460 has Keith Black pistons, plasma moly rings, 1973 smog heads (larger combustion chamber then pre 72 heads, wanted to still run pump gas), a 270 duration cam, dual valve springs, Ford racing 1.73 ratio roller rockers, an Edelbrock intake, 750 carb, double roller timing set, Maddog 2" primary tube to 3 1/2" collector fenderwell exit headers and flowmaster mufflers. The engine will puff smoke sometimes but not always, it leads me to believe it could probably use new valve seals. but it runs really, really strong with 160lbs of compression in each cylinder and good oil pressure. The transmission and transfer case were rebuilt at the same time the engine was (about two years ago). Ive pulled many heavy loads and the they both shift flawlessly! The interior of this truck is probably the nicest I've seen, the original rubber flooring is intact and in good condition (it's covered with a black LMC carpet kit), the dash pad is flawless (its covered with a protective black dash pad), the front and rear seats are perfect, the dash is in original condition (never cut for aftermarket stereo), all gauges, switches, lights, horn and accessories including cigarette lighter are in perfect working order, the headliner is intact but has shrunk maybe a half of an inch over the years so there is a small gap between trim ring and liner over driver side area. That is the only flaw in the interior i can think of. The paint and body on this truck are very presentable but not perfect, there are dents and dings in the body and the paint has a slight "orange peel" texture and some rock chips around wheel wells. There is no rust on the floor pans, rockers, cab corners or wheel wells but there is minor rusting in the bottom corner of both doors (pictured). The rust is on the inner skin and is at the seem (not through the panel). This truck is still a head turner, looks great driving down the road! All glass, four wheel drive system, brakes (including E-brake), both gas tanks, tailgate, blinkers, brake lights and head lights work properly. The steering is tight with no slop and the suspension is tight and quiet. Both gas tank sending units work well also (gauge works for both tanks) Everything on this truck works as it should! Also when I say dents and dings I'm talking minor hard to notice stuff. This truck looks and runs great! I have bought lots on ebay and have been disappointed more then once so when I tell you about smoke, dents and orange peel its just so there are no surprises.
